KD in CA Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Most will pay out after 2 years. Even if you off yourself? I thought that act voided most policies.
Chef Jim Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Even if you off yourself? I thought that act voided most policies. Many policies have a two year non-contestability clause that says after two years the company cannot contest an insurance claim due to fraud or suicide. That's why most companies won't insure people with major depression. Like that's gonna stop anyone. Jump into net, crawl to edge, jump off net. They've been talking about putting suicide barriers on the Golden Gate bridge for years.
thebug Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Even if you off yourself? I thought that act voided most policies. My agent told me I couldn't off myself for 2 years after signing the policy. (He was a buddy and said it jokingly) But he was serious.

Fan in San Diego Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Like that's gonna stop anyone. Jump into net, crawl to edge, jump off net. Take out razor blade and cut through the net maybe?
thebug Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Take out razor blade and cut through the net maybe? Are you CRAZY? Razor blades are super dangerous!
DC Tom Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Take out razor blade and cut through the net maybe? They're probably tougher than that. Probably need something like a reciprocating saw.
Captain Hindsight Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 One of Woody Paige's best article's he's ever written. He explains the simple way of pulling it off. http://www.denverpos...ige/ci_16149407 Thanks for posting that
Dante Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 True Romance was an awesome film. Great cast as well. One of my favorites.
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Man, this killing yourself is a lot of work. Hey, go out with a sense of accomplishment.
bbb Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Now that I think of it, this is why there is the phenomenon of the very depressed not killing themselves, because they are not up to do any of this stuff..........But, when they start feeling better is when they kill themselves.

Depression is very passive...you feel like killing yourself, but you simply don't have the initiative to do it (or anything else for that matter). It's when you start coming out of it that's a really dangerous time.
bbb Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 When I first heard that, it didn't make sense. But now it does.
