Fezmid Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 This really isn't getting much press in MN. Surprise, surprise. http://www.startribune.com/politics/statelocal/166487336.html?refer=y Basically a congressman is seen in public having sex with a minor... And isn't charged with anything. Not with having sex with a minor. Not with indecent exposure (someone saw and reported it). Not lewd and lascivious behavior. Nothing. Interesting.

And point of note: STATE Congress. Not Federal.
UConn James Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 On the state public safety committee? I'm willing to bet there were any number of officers, brass, and prosecuters who were/are MORE than willing to keep it quiet so they could have this vote by the short and curlies when it comes time for ANYTHING in their intere$t$.
Oxrock Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 (edited) If this were a Republican, that headline would have been: Rep. Kerry Gauthier (R District 17) faces charges for sex encounter Edited August 19, 2012 by Oxrock
KD in CA Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 If this were a Republican, that headline would have been: Rep. Kerry Gauthier (R District 17) faces charges for sex encounter Not to mention the top story on every national morning show for at least a week.
UConn James Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 If this were a Republican, that headline would have been: Rep. Kerry Gauthier (R District 17) faces charges for sex encounter You do mean ... "for homosexual encounter" ... right? Think they'd let that softball go by?

But I am surprised this isn't getting more press especially in MN.
BillsFanM.D. Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 You do mean ... "for homosexual encounter" ... right? Think they'd let that softball go by? speaking of softballs....I don't even know where to start the jokes based on this paragraph snipped from the article. "Authorities walked around the building and found Gauthier in shorts and a short-sleeved shirt with his zipper down. An officer drew his gun when he saw Gauthier's hand in a pocket. Gauthier eventually retrieved a cellphone from the pocket."
Oxrock Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 You do mean ... "for homosexual encounter" ... right? Think they'd let that softball go by? exactly.
fjl2nd Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 If this were a Republican, that headline would have been: Rep. Kerry Gauthier (R District 17) faces charges for sex encounter The victimhood is strong here!
Wisconsin Bills Fan Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 The victimhood is strong here! Do you agree with his point, or not?
The Poojer Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 It also would be tied back to Romney/Paul much like this dumbass akin's idiotic statement about rape.. If this were a Republican, that headline would have been: Rep. Kerry Gauthier (R District 17) faces charges for sex encounter
The Big Cat Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 It would be getting more play if it was a 17 year old girl. That much is certain.
DC Tom Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 It also would be tied back to Romney/Paul much like this dumbass akin's idiotic statement about rape.. I heard that this morning. Hilarious. It was less offensive than it was totally !@#$ing incoherent and retarded.

Fezmid Posted August 20, 2012 Author Posted August 20, 2012 No charges were filed because he was above the age of consent. But I am surprised this isn't getting more press especially in MN. It's still illegal to have sex in public, regardless of the age of consent...
Fan in San Diego Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 It's still illegal to have sex in public, regardless of the age of consent... Is sex in the bushes still considered in the public?
Rob's House Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 It's still illegal to have sex in public, regardless of the age of consent... Way to spoil the party, Captain Buzzkill.
TakeYouToTasker Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 It's still illegal to have sex in public, regardless of the age of consent... Damnit... there goes my whole weekend.
