Canks Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 1. our right guard should be playing left tackle 2. we cut our best o lineman (jasper) 3. Troup's back isnt healthy 4. Gilmore isn't charismatic 5. Our "left tackles" both don't have the length to be playing center let alone guard, let alone left tackle. ugh 6. We can't even sell out our own pre season games! 7.we have young and mario... but not bush and leinart.
CodeMonkey Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 1) Gailey grew a beard. 2) Not only the refs, but the replacement refs hate the Bills as well. 3) The NFL hates the city of Buffalo. 4) There are not enough wings in the city of Buffalo to feed the Bills D line. 5) The Canadian Ballet will drain the rookie Bills of all energy. I've been drained of too much energy to come up with 5 more.
milehiLou Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Top Ten Reasons the Bills Make the Playoffs 1. Dominating D Line 2. New Def. Coord. 3. Chan's an offensive guru 3. Two running backs who both average over 5 ypc 4. Superior teamwork. These guys are committed to the team and their common goal: make the playoffs. 5. A QB with good leadership skills who understands the system. 6. We're much improved vs 2011 simply because we don't have a dozen key players on IR. 7. A good secondary. 8. The Jets and Fins don't look like contenders. Even the Pats have vulnerabilities. 9. Although lacking star power, our WR Corps is very deep. 10. This is the time of year for optimism. was just about to go here...#2 being the most important IMO
San-O Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Remind me, when was the last time they were ready to challenge? So another year of...Wait until next year! +1 Bingo. FWIW: I had really expected the D to be better.
truth on hold Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 According to consensus on this board: 1 Chris kelsays contract 2 the Toronto game 3 Aaron maybin 4 DEFINITELY NOT FITZ 5 beer restrictions at the Ralph 6 DEFINITELY NOT CHAN 7 the schedule which doesn't put our last 8 games at home in the winter 8 Stevie Johnsons rap video 9 DEFINITELY NOT NIX 10 donate whitners tweets
DC Tom Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I could block everyone in this thread and on-balance be better off for it.
JohninMinn. Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 The pro: Potentially put yourself in playoff contention for the next decade. The con: Set your defense back to square one. It'd be worth it. 1. Bad fans 2. Weak-willed fans 3. Self-hating fans 4. Bandwagon fans 5. Super critical fans 6. Fair weather fans 7. Square-Dancing-around-the-Wagons Fans 8. Only-watch-The-Bills-on-TV fans in Western New York 9. Fans that B word about ticket and stadium food prices 10. Fans that B word about Ralph being cheap Marginal Fans always panic in the preseason!

Over 29 years of fanhood Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I'll take that bet and be glad to pay if I lose. I just don't think Fitz is good enough to get us there. If Tebow and Yates can qb Their team to playoffs, any qb currently on an nfl roster has a shot. I've been drained of too much energy to come up with 5 more. That is clearly the sixth reason!
You herd it hear last Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 1. It's hard to win in the NFL - well it is true. The Jets, Pats, Bills, Steelers, Bengals, Ravens, Texans, Broncos, Chargers, and Chiefs all have legit shots at the 6 playoff spots and the Titans and Raiders could surprise people. 2. The LB corp is just not good. 3. Wannstedt has washed out of the last three coaching jobs he has had and was at least partly responsible for the mess last year. 4. The DL may still not be able to stop the run. 5. The WR is as lacking in talent as it is deep in mediocrity. 6. The best O-lineman is coming off his second serious leg injury. 7. A rookie will start at LT. 8. Fitz will throw at least one if not three horrific passes a game. 9. Freddie is old and coming off a leg injury 10. Tom Brady The jets are going to be one of the worst teams in football in 2012. Little known fact, apparently.
Wagon Circler Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 1 Fitz 2 injuries 3 o line 4 receivers 5 tough division 6 linebackers 7 gailey sticks to his system even though its not working 8 bad officiating That's all I got (for now) I like #7. The Bills seem easy to defend. Blitz the 4-wide and play the short pass. Gailey seems adamant about doing this even though it stopped working.
DukeyBomb Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 The girl at the end of that video wearing the Fitz jersey was smart.
Santana Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 This post is lame, I mean really no one is forced to be a Bill's fan. We all choose to be one, there's 31 other teams that you could be a fan of, You could make this list for any team in the NFL if you wanted to, there's just no relevance at all here, sorry. It's week 2 of the preseason for cryin out loud, lets not jump to conlcusions. There is just as many reasons why the Bills COULD make the playoffs too.
Since 1972 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I'm on it. Be sure to hold your breath while you await my results. Been holding it for 12 years. What's one more season or two or...

A rookie will start at LT. 8. Fitz will throw at least one if not three horrific passes a game. 9. Freddie is old and coming off a leg injury 10. Tom Brady A rookie will also start at CB. You forgot a novice set of CBs. Aaron Williams has everything to prove and Glimore is a rookie. Like most of our 1st round Draft picks, if he amounts to something we should be ecstatic. They have 6 starts between them. It hardly bodes well for making the playoffs. Here's a good article on why that and the fact that the LT may be Glenn (a rookie) makes our making the playoffs unlikely - http://www.profootballweekly.com/2012/07/04/bills-counting-on-rookies-at-crucial-positions Brady doesn't hurt the Bills' chances directly, but as long as he's on the Pats and his arm is OK, they'll win the division, which means that it leaves us fighting not only Miami and the Jets, but the rest of the AFC for one of two WC spots. You talked about Wanny but didn't mention Gailey. Gailey's 4-12 and 6-10 with a team that was 6-10 when he got it and 7-9 for three seasons prior to that. Why is everyone talking about him as if he knows what he's doing? Yours is an accurate list however. Here's another very objective piece discussing some of the same things - http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/08/02/32-teams-in-32-days-buffalo-bills/ i disagree w/ them on Sheppard, and I still think he needs a lot of improvement to be playing well enough to help us get to the playoffs. Barnett is the only above average LB we have. I was really hoping that Bradham or Carder would be able to start, but seeing that Moats and Morrison are battling for that spot isn't encouraging. If anything they should have thought about moving Barnett into the middle because of his experience and the fact that they have good pass rush now off the edges on the DL. Simply put, there are way too many holes. Some of the media talk like Mario filled them all. He filled one, that's it.
HOUSE Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 (edited) The dreaded white collar Tim Tebow Magic Fleas in Fitzpatrick's beard The loss of Michael Jasper Ralph Wilson is old Replacement officials from Boston Rex is a genius Mario slips in Shower Because Mike & Mike said so Bills Sign Kirk Cousins now and he sucks. - - - Edited August 20, 2012 by HOUSE
Heitz Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 1. Because they play in the NFL where anything can, and probably will happen. Our LBs suck, unless they don't. Freddy is too old, unless he plays like he did last year. Fitz sucks, unless he regains his form from early season last year. Brady is god, unless he gets hurt. Who knows what's going to happen? Can't we at least try to enjoy the ride and maybe look at the one thing I know we all care deeply about - the Buffalo Bills - with a bit of optimism?
bananathumb Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 There is only one reason and we all know who he is (though we all won't admit it ...yet).
