You herd it hear last
Why is he eligible as a free agent? Couldn't any player just 'choose' to not participate in the draft and then hold an auction to the highest bidder for his services?

I know what you are saying but a team can draft him regardless and hold his rights for a year.
VanCity
I knew about Demps last season, but he wasn't on a lot of teams draft radar. I don't believe that it was because of his training and focus for the Olympics. His ability as a punt/kick-off returner far outclasses his ability as a RB. He has obvious straight-line speed, but if you watched him in university, you would see that he had a difficult go when forced to put a lot of effort into breaking tackles and lateral moves. He was not a bad rb, but he would be third string at best on most NFL teams.
FleaMoulds80
If he does try out for an NFL team, I would imagine him trying out at WR.
Trader
If he was not drafted then he is an undrafted free agent and he can sign with whoever he wants.
Mr. WEO
I know what you are saying but a team can draft him regardless and hold his rights for a year. Draft? Isn't he out of school? And if you don't register for the draft, how can a team draft you and hold your rights?
