Booger Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Would everyone please just calm the !@#$ down? Yeah, CALM DOWN....the man has been the anchor of stability over the past 5 seasons. Great upside...unbelievable amount of potential.
Mr. WEO Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 He's just holding out for a new contract, which he'll get by opening day. Chill--he'll get his 5 games in this season.
Armchair GM Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 If he plays only 25-30 plays like Chan has stated, I highly doubt he makes the impact you suggest. At this point in his career, Merriman is not the difference between a top 5 or top 10 defense. I would point to our very, very inexperienced CBs as having the ability to make our defense leap into the top 15. If he returns to even half his form, 25-30 plays could equate to 8-10 sacks...I'd say that's a pretty significant contribution, no?

So when he was "full form" he would get 16-20 sacks per 25-30 plays? Thems is some good numbers! (I know what you meant, I'm just messin around) Edited August 14, 2012 by thebug

HeHateMe Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Merriman is basically a good locker room guy and recruiter at this point of his career. I don't have high expectations for him this year. If he makes it to the bye week i'll be impressed.

Lurker Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Standing on sidelines this afternoon. Left knee wrapped. Interesting. Thanks for posting...
Dorkington Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Chan said at the beginning of camp, iirc, that he'd get a day off here and there. And in Bills Roundup, they simply said they gave him the day off, no injury.
Cugalabanza Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Just curious: Would it be ok with everyone if I go ahead and freak out about this?

Fingers crossed, trust me. Just can't envision him getting 8-10 sacks. I'm on record saying that him getting 5 sacks would be an amazing contribution.

Chandemonium Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Would everyone please just calm the !@#$ down? I'm calmer than you are.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I'm calmer than you are. No you aren't you sunofa !@#$ bich!!!!
BuffaloFan68 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I still think we should move him to OLB so he can be on the field with: Mario, Dareus, Williams, Anderson, & Shep.
Dorkington Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 He practiced today. No mention of any injury.
milehiLou Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Bruce Smith missed most of every training camp during his career as a Bills player. That turned out ok i guess
benderbender Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 If he returns to even half his form, 25-30 plays could equate to 8-10 sacks...I'd say that's a pretty significant contribution, no? Pepe Lepew? It is you, yes?
BillsBiker Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Shawney Shawney Shawney.... give up already dude, more like lights on, retire and read a book already. Your taking up a roster spot for an up and coming tough guy. JR Seau plays harder than you and he is dead
