NoSaint Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 (edited) Another example why we can't say all that much as viewers I'm sure some remember Payton being mad that harbaugh didn't return his call last preseason. I remember some not buying that those calls happened. And this year we hear about Lewis calling Rex last week to ask for no wildcat packages- article below. http://m.nydailynews.com/1.1134157 What players were asked to do, what situations coaches were setting up, etc... We just don't know. The goal of any given play call isn't always "win the game" in preseason. Did we call a play to help out the other teams evaluations? Did they do the same for us? Johnny Hammersticks Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Interesting... Did Washington keep their offense pretty vanilla so our defense could get some work in our base 4-3, or did they do so to give RG-III a slow, simplistic introduction to the offense (and NFL game speed). Similarly, did we come out throwing because Chan really wanted to test the OT's and WR's, or is it because Washington wanted some exposure to spread formations more frequently utilized by their NFC opponents Philadelphia and Dallas? Hmmmmm.
