Can linemen 'make a play'?

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering if 'making a play' was limited to just receivers and running backs or players that might regularly score touchdown. If Eric Wood makes the correct line adjustment call that give Fitz a split more second to hit Stevie on a quick post to score the winning touchdown, did Stevie make the play, Fitz who made the pass, Jackson who picked up the blitzing linebacker, or Jones who hustled his but off the line of scrimage to pull the double coverage off of Stevie?

Dareus pushed the linemen as hard as he could back, got his arms up and got the ball deflected off his helmet. Everyone reading this knows what happened next.

Kind of like when you see a hot girl at the end of the bar, a handsome guy making his way across the room in her direction, and a waitress with a full tray between the two.

You grab some ice from your Jack on the rocks, toss it on the floor in front of the waitress, she dumps the tray of hot wings down the front of the handsome guy.

Later, you leave with the hot chick.

Now, who really made the play?
