The thread talking about missing our grandparents got me to thinking so I googled my grandfather and found a family tree on his mother's side. His great-great-great-great-great-great-great (I think that's right) grandfather came over from England on the Fortune. That was the first ship to arrive at Plymouth a year after the Mayflower (they must of had something more important to do the prior year) and two weeks after the first Thanksgiving. Well ain't the fricken cool!

Great. So now when we're all looking for someone to blame for the Native American genocide, we know who to point fingers at.

Of course, my many-times-great-grandfather was here a century earlier than that (Jacques Cartier), so I shouldn't talk.

I think DAR has it's own website.

My wife asked what the Pilgrim equivalent to the DAR was and I said SOP and that made sense in my case.
