Best Player Available
At what point do people start questioning his work ethic and pot usage? Really it's neither. With every chick in the Olympic village trying to bang him, sleep has been little to non-existent. I expect him to rebound quickly once the Bangers and mash kick in. boyst
Really..questioning Micheal Phelps work ethic ??? Dude smoked a little weed right after winning 8 gold medals and 8 years of busting stones, most days doing doubles..and he is a pot head Then, he has 4 more years to next Olympics, makes it back to the Olympics , after reaching the pinnacle of his sport, no small feet at age 27 , and he is not working hard enough! Wow, tough crowd I wasn't qjestioining it at all. Just wondering how many armchairs will eventually wonder. I can definitely see Limbaugh going off about it. Wow, tough crowd Actually, there was a piece done on NBC where Brian Williams interviewed Phelps. Now, there's the whole impression that the Subway commercials gave and then there's reality. Phelps said that post-Bejing there was a serious letdown / euphoric crash / depression, he started using mary-jane and heactually gained ~25 pounds (and there were photos to prove that). He said that eventually, one of his buddies was like, 'Dude WTF is going on. You need to get it together and get back on track' and that this shook him out of it. His conditioning and fitness are not the same. Granted, it's four years on and wear and tear and change is inevitable. But questioning his work ethic, when he himself admits it suffered.... Yeah. I agree 100 % with that...that's why I am saying his work ethic is awesome... No doubt, he needed time off..but to come off the Bejing Olympics and the history he made there , and still come back at his age ..no way can his work ethic be questioned. No doubt he is not the same..can see it in first lap..just as I can with my daughter. As an aside,I firmly believe part of the problem is trials so close to the Olympics. Trials is arguably the better meet depth wise..and to come off that high a month later can be tough..That iswhy for awhile they moved trials to January..but schockingthe Association wined it killed their Championship season..so hey went to this foray Edited July 31, 2012 by plenzmd1
bbb
Natalie Coughlin talked a lot about how stupid it is to have the trials so close to the Olympics..........I really like her combination of class, competitiveness and cuteness. It seems to me that Lochte is a dbag. He says "This is my time" and then comes up short since. I can do without his stupid grill, too.
The Poojer
I kind of feel the same way, but I wonder if its because I am comparing him to Phelps who has a very different personality for a champion of his caliber....he's not like your typical one!
