CosmicBills Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 The minutes are ticking by. Each of us grows anxious as the hour approaches. Never in our wildest dreams could we have envisioned how far we have come. But the toughest battle lies ahead. Not the one in Buffalo tomorrow, but the one in each of our own hearts as we watch, helpless, the events unfold in St. Louis and Denver. As we steel ourselves for this impeding day of angst, we should also reflect on how far we have come as fans over the past five months. We’ve bashed Bledsoe. We’ve supported Bledsoe. We’ve called TD crazy, we’ve called him a genius. We’ve debated the very sanity of a man known only as ICE. We’ve seen threads jump from 1 page to 20 over someone’s homework assignment and Ron Artest’s right to protect himself from a plastic cup. We have even witnessed “the single most embarrassing upset in the past five years”. Yet despite our differences, we’ve kept coming back to the board to root on our team (or to pick on Patriot fans…). I wanted to thank everyone in this community for a great year. Hopefully tomorrow we will have something more to cheer about than just a 10-6 record. But if not, let’s appreciate how great it is to be a member of the TBD community. GO BILLS (and Rams and Colts)

Rubes Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 It's the reason TBD is one of the first things I do in the morning and one of the last before I hit the hay.

I am going to be so stressed out tomorrow, and if the Bills lose, then oh god help me, I'm gonna be crawling into a cave and not want to talk to anyone for 2 days! But I do Billieve in this team, this town needs this win and a playoff birth so much. It's time to circle the wagons!!
Guest BackInDaDay Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 playoff birth 187371[/snapback] It's playoff berth, but I'm not being a Dick , I just think your use of 'birth' is almost poetic in terms of what this team's on the verge of accomplishing! If everything that needs to break right for us comes to pass, then a new Bills' season will be 'born'. You may have some of that James Joyce 'stream of consciousness' thingy goin' on, lawnboy!
John from Riverside Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 Me and my son were talking about this while we were at the gym today..... I was talking to him about the various scenarios....how the steelers have the number 1 defense.....yada yada yada He started laughing.....just last year his junior pee wee football team played in the Inland Empire JAAF Super Bowl.....he reminded me again of that day..... My 13 year old son (in about 5 days) is also a avid reader....and one of the things that he has been especially into is bushido and the code of the samuri..... To make a long story short....he told me that he feels about tomorrow as he did while strapping up his cleats for the super bowl.... "what is going to happen is going to happen" "do not fear losing.....lest you defeat yourself" "keep your focus and beleive in your karma..." Pretty deep stuff.......but damn I like it.....if we make the playoffs tomorrow then we were MEANT to make the playoffs.....if not....then win or lose this team is leaps and bounds better then the year before last......and it is only going to get better. GOD BLESS OUR BILLS.......
Guest BackInDaDay Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 Man, oh man, the hits keep comming! That's a smart kid, buddy. 'Karma', now that's as good a word as any to put on all of this.

bb63 Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 Even if we dont make the playoffs, a win today going 10-6 would keep the excitement and fun on this board going into next season. Not that I"m ready for this season to end by no means, its nice to see abig happy family here again!
