Who Do You Think Will Win The Presidential Election?

Recommended Posts

"Culture makes all the difference," Mr. Romney said. "And as I come here and I look out over this city and consider the accomplishments of the people of this nation,I recognize the power of at least culture and a few other things."

Yeah... I am gonna say it... What are those "other things?" It is Mormonism that he is letting influence his beliefs.

"There are no people in the world who understand the Jews like the Mormons," Israel's first prime minister,David Ben-Gurion,once told future LDS President Ezra Taft Benson. "We need to know more about the Jews, and the Jews ought to know more about the Mormons," Benson replied.

"Mormon leaders espoused Zionist sympathies decades before the Jewish national movement was born. In 1841,Joseph Smith sent his "personal apostle" Orson Hyde to Jerusalem, where on the Mount of Olives he beseeched God to "restore the kingdom unto Israel - raise up Jerusalem as its capital, and continue her people a distinct nation and government." Today,Jerusalem's very own Orson Hyde Park sits on the spot of that prophecy, just a few steps from BYU's Jerusalem Center."

I kinda of figured your reply. Whatever. Throughout American history, it has always been the other way about the creepyness and the cultish behavior. Where do you draw the line. What is your stance?

When it comes to the religious issues of this race... It is the 800 pound gorilla in the room. Sure it is all about economy... I am all for gay marriage as long as you don't discriminate against the polygmists.... Where do you draw the line in the sand? And believe this stuff will effect the economy at some point.

How many sides do you have to your mouth? What religious issues have been argued in this election other than a few shots at Mormonism? So much off the wall, out of left field schit comes out of your mouth that I nominate you for the PPP's 2012 Loose Cannon Award.

You're a bigot

Using the same tricks of the trade you call against against the baiters I see. Many people see Mormonism as a religious cult... Where do you draw the line? You obviously love everybody, no matter what they do and thing. Aren't we all bigots to some extent?

Call me a bigot... I can be critical of Moromism... Just think of it as one loonq calling out other loons if you must. No hard feelings. I am more open to people than you are... Yet, I can speak out in dissent of one's beliefs.

Where do you draw the societal baselines? If everything is normal, than so is bigotry.

Do we want a theologue for a president... Well that is sure what you are gonna get... And Romney's comments are proving it.

It is a PC world... Be thankful people are scared to speak out. I never thought I would see you, Magox, and other as the thought police...

I see you are using the liberal PC tricks.

I am by far NOT intolerant... I see nothing wrong with erasing societal norms/mores.... EXCEPT, they ALL gotta be erased. Let the state get innvolved in marriage and put no limits on anything. Treat everybody equally. How is that intolerant? So, no drawing societal lines is intolerant? Where do you put the line in the sand at... Anywhere you arbitrarily please... Well it doesn't work that way... You can't allow some and discriminate against others... You allow for ALL or cut them all down tp equal lengths.

Where do you come up with this schit? This election is not about religion and certainly not about forcing anyone's thoughts. Why am I arguing with a toll collecter?

Be scared about Americans in general, they are as a whole far more bigoted and intolerant than I will ever be. What is happening here is many conservatives, especially the evangelicals, are making and unholy alliance with Mitt. Don't fool yourself... Mitt is a lot closer to Obama's thinking that many want to believe. Right now he's gotta posse with the fundamentalist Christians to get elected... When it comes to social issues, I really don't fear Mitt... He will be a lot like Obama. We really can't lose in this election when it comes to these issues... He will throw the intolerant Christians under the bus faster than you can say: "Mormons have been persecuted in America." They are already decriminalizing the cultish behavior...

This is the kink in the armor some fear.

For many it is... It is collectOr.

You are totally right... It isn't about religion for me... Really, believe it or not. When it comes to a president, what better religion to have than the most persecuted religion in American history reside over the Oval Office... There could be a lot of social change here.

No b/c LABillsFan is a proud non-thinker. You don't tell anti-intellectuals to think. It's offensive to their doctrine.

So true

So you're basing your comments on...what? What some liberal media outlet told you? Memory?

I saw it on a news program last night.

Nothing to get offended by, if America accepted Archie bunker then I'm sure we can accept you too :)

Really... I knew you would chime in. Why is it cruel and tragic... Explain. Could it because Mitt's own backers will cannablize good ole Mitt... You are right, that is very tragic and cruel.

You are sounding more like a liberal...

The truth hurts /dev... I will play nice soas not to hurt your feelings.

What are you talking about?

Just to change gears a bit, if it really is changing gears.

How can what I am saying not be a liability for Mitt? Mitt is very socially liberal... Or will he stay more conservative like he is campaigning with his right tighty buddies. How can his wishy-washyness, flip-floppery not come to haunt him... He better pray the economy is really that bad and hope it sticks... Or he may be the first challenger to lose against an incumbant even with the economy in the tank (the Reagan PlayBook).
