I was not impressed with the Gailey hire, that is for sure. So far, not so good, not so bad. This year will prove it either way. Nix I had never heard of and did not have an opinion either way. Using early picks on defensive backs simply has not worked for us. This is beyond dispute. And, imo we are not strong at LB. John from Riverside Posted July 7, 2012 Share Posted July 7, 2012 Watching him play a few times last year and in the videos I thought he lacked the change of direction skills needed to cover a #1 WR in the NFL, or at least enough that he wasn't really worthy of a high 1st Round pick. The season hasn't started yet, but I find myself being more at ease with the pick now. No, I love what Gailey and Nix have done with this team. Fair enough The fact that Gilmore played well with two of the best wide receivers to come out of the draft in some time (the year before he was drafted) makes me think he is simply a hell of a football player.
