Corp000085 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Point of clarification: games moved ahead 10 minutes
You herd it hear last Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 SF game KO now 4:25pm Says the guy from the eastern time zone...
MikeSpeed Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 SF game KO now 4:25pm Why not just make it 4:30 and be done with it?
PromoTheRobot Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Why not just make it 4:30 and be done with it? 4:30?? Now that's just crazy talk. PTR
Just Jack Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 It's a conspiracy against the Bills! The 49ers will use the extra 10 minutes to psych out the Bills. Or rig it so the Bills are playing into the sun when it's setting!
San Jose Bills Fan Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Point of clarification: games moved ahead 10 minutes See, I always describe delaying something as "pushing it back" and not "moving it ahead."

judman Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Point of clarification: games moved ahead 10 minutes I always have trouble with the golf lingo "adding a club" or "taking away a club."
Optometric Insight Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I'm putting on my tin foil hat here and saying that in those ten minutes, the NFL will pump even more carbon monoxide than they regularly would into the locker, therefor making the entire team sluggish and out of the game in the first 20 minutes.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 You are correct. I stand corrected Oh good. I wasn't sure about that. Not good that you were wrong… just good that I wasn't wrong. Anyways, that's 10 more minutes of waiting before the Bills commence kicking the Niners' asses!
sweatpantsjoe Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 The Bills / Raiders game was on the local CBS out here in LA LA Land and they switched to the Pats / Chargers game before it ended. I had Sunday Ticket so I was able to switch to another CBS game and catch the ending but those who didn't have Sunday Ticket missed the David Nelson TD.
CodeMonkey Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 10 more minutes of commercials so the TV revenue can increase in coming years ... sweet.
Snopple Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 (edited) Does this change apply to all late (4pm) games on Sunday Afternoon? If so, its probably a good change. It reduces the number of times the networks cut away from an early game to accomodate the start of a later game. At the same time, those games that start at 4:25 should end before seven o’clock. Which means I won’t have to miss any of NBC’s “Football Night in America” which I really enjoy. Edited June 29, 2012 by Snopple
jumbalaya Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 The real solution is to eliminate the official timeouts. They come at the wrong moments, extend the game, and make pro football very boring. Commercials take away the game especially for those teams that are fit as no squad should ever get tired because timeouts last too long. Its time the fans started controlling these decisions and get them out of the hands of the guys running the leagues. They ruin the game. Football will be like baseball soon.
Corp000085 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Oh good. I wasn't sure about that. Not good that you were wrong… just good that I wasn't wrong. Anyways, that's 10 more minutes of waiting before the Bills commence kicking the Niners' asses! Thanks man. Also, to toot my own horn, it's good that I owned up to being wrong! It rarely happens on message boards
