Marv's Neighbor Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Only in Buffalo area is a home like this available for $2M. At least $10M anywhere else. In WNY, 2M for the house, 8M in TAXES!
The Cincinnati Kid Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Average at best. I see nothing special about that house!
PromoTheRobot Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 In WNY, 2M for the house, 8M in TAXES! In WNY, house own YOU! What a country! PTR
C.Biscuit97 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I am glad he bought in WNY. An article TBN wrote in Feb 2012 spoke about how many players and coaches only rent in OP and its surrounding areas. IIRC Rob Johnson lived in a hotel the whole time he was here. From the article: Just passing through Bills General Manager Buddy Nix affirmed last month the team would spend up to the NFL's $120 million salary cap, introducing a few dozen millionaires into Western New York who wouldn't normally be here. Giambra noted that works out better for the state than the county. Albany would rake in between $9 million and $10 million in income taxes. "How much money is really put back into the community from 30 millionaires?" Giambra asked. "The answer is more to the state than to the local community. Maybe they buy a house and a couple cars here, but most of that money leaves with them." Or maybe football players don't buy those big-ticket items here. Many players bring cars with them to training camp. Luxury vehicles in the St. John Fisher parking lots are dotted with out-of-state license plates. Real-estate agents The News interviewed dismissed the idea that losing so many millionaires would undercut the housing market in Orchard Park or Hamburg. NFL coaches and players not only tend to rent here, but they're also known for trying to break their leases when the season is over. Terrell Owens was given a key to the city, but he rented. Ralph Wilson doesn't own a house in Western New York; he has a condo in Williamsville. Head coach Chan Gailey rents. "Not one Realtor would be impacted by the Bills not being here," said Maureen Flavin, an agent who specializes in high-end properties and has represented several Buffalo Sabres and Bills clients over the past 20 years. "So many of them rent, and the places they rent are highly desirable. I could rent those places out in my sleep. There are way more people who want to rent than places to rent." And the lesson as always is RJ is a giant douche. People who wanted Johnson over Flutie shoudl punch themselves in the face.

John Cocktosten Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Hope the house comes wth all of those books
nedboy7 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 What an ugly, tasteless house. You have all the money in the world and you buy that thing?
bbb Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Only in Buffalo area is a home like this available for $2M. At least $10M anywhere else. I don't understand real estate very good. My one friend in Atlanta is always bragging about how little he pays in property taxes. And, I say but the cost of your actual house has got to be way more than what you would pay in Buffalo, so you still have less of mortgage/tax bill in Buffalo for the same house. Now, he claims that the houses in Atlanta are the same cost as in Buffalo. Yet, I always hear what Nucci is saying - $2M here is $10M somewhere else. Could my friend be right if maybe he's only talking about building a new house and not buying a existing house (his new argument involves cheap non-unionized and I believe illegal alien foreigners to build) or his he just wrong period?
Buffalo Barbarian Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Kelly's house is the one right across the street from the one Mario bought. From what I understand, Mario's house used to belong to some big shot lawyer who got busted in a ponzi scheme.
biglukes Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Busted in a ponzi scheme, swindled his clients. Tomato/tomahto haha
Fan in San Diego Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Nice house. That would be about 3 to 5 mil at least in San Diego.
boyst Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Supposedly he also has a huge house in Raleigh, not sure if he is going to keep it or what; supposed to be bigger. He is supposed to be a big country boy, chews, fish, etc. Also, he never chose to live in Houston but chose Buffalo to live in. Hmm. I never did like Houston. Just...I mean, what do you do there? Just seems empty with everything so slammed together.

You pay less property tax in many other places even though the home is more expensive. I live in Delaware where taxes are very low. The difference is when my house and my brothers house in Amherst is paid off, I'll being paying much less because of the different tax rates.
ACor58 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Only in Buffalo area is a home like this available for $2M. At least $10M anywhere else. Right - the big difference is that the property taxes are $80,000 per year for this property in Buffalo and closer to $10,000 anywhere else. I Love New York! There are way more people who want to rent than places to rent." Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa poor realtors. They could always get jobs selling used cars instead. The National Associaton of Relators is nothing but a cartel trying to keep a firm grip on an industry that should have died a long time ago. With the availability of information online, all they really do is steal 6% from every house that the "sell".

Which ones costs more for the same house? Mortgage plus taxes.
bbb Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Buffalo Rising @BuffaloRising Mario Williams's purchase of a $2M house is the biggest real estate transaction by a professional athlete in WNY history.
FleaMoulds80 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 What an ugly, tasteless house. You have all the money in the world and you buy that thing? Jealous much?
Offside Number 76 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Jealous much? I wouldn't buy it either. I have expensive taste, but it runs to clean-lined minimalism and not all that flowery crap in that place. I'm jealous of McGee's condo in the Avant.
