So, Chase is having this contest for a $250,000 grant for small businesses, and I entered. The rub is you need 250 votes. So I can use all the help I can get.

A few notes about the business:

1) It's an organic pet company for cats. Yes, cats may not be as en vogue with football guys as dogs, but hey, that's what my business is.

2) We only make our stuff in the good ole U.S. of A. No Made in China crap.

So here's the deal, and it takes about 30 seconds:

A) Go to this website: missionsmallbusiness.com

B) Click on "Log in and Support"

C) You must log in through Facebook (there is no other way to log in)

D) Search for "Organikat" If it asks you for a state & city, it's Santa Monica, CA

E) Vote. If you're so inclined, you can even share your vote on Facebook.

Thanks in advance and Go Bills!!!!

1) I don't Facebook. Ever.

2) "Organic pet company for cats"? Can you be more specific? I'm not voting just because you say "pretty please with sugar on it", I want to know what the hell you're trying to do.

Not that I'm voting anyway, but I'll forward that on to people if I think it's worth it.

He sells people?

Yes. And it took three weeks to realize that Facebook is worse than useless. Now I don't Facebook...ever.

The truly amazing thing. He specifically asked in the shoutbox if an "Off The Wall" board existed. So CowgirlsFan directs him...here?

Must have wanted us to skin him alive for asking such a dumb question. It's the only reason to send him here.

I knew CowgirlsFan was secretly malicious.

Need some more info on your business model too.

Like who owns the capital? You or the cats? Is there interest on the use the catnip? Is the $250k distributed evenly among the 250 voters with each getting an equal say in how the company is run?

Important stuff man. Business is hard

That's an interesting product you appear to have there. What sort of demand is there for organic pets for cats? Though cats aren't as en vogue  as dogs around here, I'd expect that since they are finickier than dogs that they would prefer organic pets to simple run of the mill pets that dogs are good with and though it's a niche market, I could see some demand for the organic pets. Ferrets would probably be finicky as well, so after you really get the cat pet market dominated, organic ferret pets might be a good complimentary market to get into. ;)

Good luck with your business and the contest. Unfortunately, I have never been on Facebook so I won't be able to vote for your company. :(

Actually, you know what? Screw it. I'll vote for you. It's fake money anyway, since it doesn't come from labor.

Yes. Organic Catnip. And an organic catnip toy. And two cardboard cat scratchers made from 100% recycled cardboard. Those are our 4 products at the moment.

Eventually organic food. Maybe I should have said "green pet company."

But anyway, if you feel like helping, great. If you have any other questions for me, please ask :)

Company is owned by me set up as an LLC. The cats work for free. Actually, they get plenty of catnip and food and water. They seem to be plenty happy.

The market for dogs is bigger overall, but in cities there are almost always large concentrations of cat owners. Organic and eco are quite big on the West Coast, or Left Coast as some of you guys might call it ;)

It will eventually seep into the lexicon in flyover country, at least that's my guess.

I'll give his company a better chance of surviving than Solyndra. But watch out for China flooding the market with cheap organic catnip and toys!

THat's the thing. A lot of independent pet stores don't want the cheap china crap. And their organics are suspect, anyways. Last time people put their trust in China, they gave us melamine in our pet food. Yay!

Organic car parts?

You should also post this on "Off The Wall." You'll get far more viewers than here. And far less snarky comments.

No, no organics in the car parts business. Just straight up metalworking, also with everything made in the USA. No China crap there either :)

I just love cars and animals, so I started companies in areas that I love.

You sell green organic cats?

No, but the colors of the company are green:

And just to reiterate, I still need your help. Just a Webster boy trying to do good for his company. Here is how you can vote...it takes about 30 seconds:

B) Click on "Log in and Support"

C) You must log in through Facebook (there is no other way to log in)
