Hapless Bills Fan
personally i think you get rid of face masks all together and watch concusions go down big time. It the false sense of security they provide that lends guys to lead with their head. Having said that, nice unique desing. The same logic would suggest a return to the old leather helmets. The Wiz
Agreed that it's incredible, but I completely fail to see how that's going to work on a football field. Unless someone needs to run an app off of an opponent's helmet. Gorilla Glass (Corning) is designed to be a relatively tough, yet incredibly electric-sensitive, surface for smart devices. It is nowhere near strong enough to withstand any impact in any sport. Just drop an iPhone without protection. You'll see what I mean. Unless they are making a visor with a built-in HUD for players

3rdand12
Unless they are making a visor with a built-in HUD for players give it time. But i still think opposing players should be able to see the eyes and vice versa. especially the qb
ExiledInIllinois
Actually, didn't they do a study on leather and plastic helmets... On straight impact tests, leather was superior to the modern hard plastic helmets... Really, look the study up.

BuffaloFan68
If the Bills move to Toronto, then I'm burning down the Skydome! = Perfect! I'll help.

Look, not the most reliable source, but: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorilla_Glass I don't think it's strong enough for a football helmet.
