JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Offseason Breakdown: Buffalo Bills Outlook: The Bills are built to be a playoff team in 2012. Williams is a potential franchise-changing addition, and Buffalo wisely kept going once it landed him. Last year’s late-season swoon was regrettable, but it also handed this team a fourth-place schedule in 2012, meaning games with Cleveland, Indianapolis and Jacksonville, to name a few. The defense should be imposing, possibly one of the AFC’s best if Gilmore helps settle the CB spot and an aging linebacking corps can hold up. The offense could be lethal, too, if a receiver emerges alongside Johnson and Fitzpatrick takes care of the football. Buffalo has not been to the playoffs since 1999 — and anything less than breaking that streak would be a disappointment.
richNjoisy Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Offseason Breakdown: Buffalo Bills Pretty positive review and I can't fault it much - I do note that they have Anderson starting and he may end being a backup. The Bills on paper are simply loaded at the DE position. The news that Shawne Merriman and Kyle Williams are both healthy is a great sign. Lastly, it is not obvious to me that Gilmore has to start right away. If he does, great but the job won;t be handed to him that's for sure. He'll have to earn it. -RnJ
atlbillsfan1975 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Pretty much spot on. IF Fitz can cut his interceptions down to 15 this team should win atleast 2-3 more games. And that goes with out mentioning the pressure opposing qb's will be facing this year. When you weigh the additions vs the losses this team should be in a better position for a playoff spot then they have been in 10 years
Chandler#81 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 ".. if an aging LB corps can hold up,.." WTH?!? C. White, Sheppard, McKillop, Eddins & Batton are in year 2. Moats, year 3. Merriman is just in year 8 with the last 2 seasons off. Sure, Nick Barnett is in year 10 and our anchor, but I hardly think he skews the numbers into 'an aging corps'...
