Obama is a hawk - he is more aggressive than was Bush on matters of national security and counter-terrorism.

Fine, got it.

Funny thing though...you don't hear any democratic congressman or progressives screaming about due process and international accords with respect to the current WH. This is so, even though the current WH has pushed the boundaries of drone strikes, calculated attackes, and such...

Where is the outrage from the left? When Bush acted similarly - though not as aggressively - it was all about usurping international arrangements and creating human rights complications.

This is a good read for those who haven't yet:

Einstein's riddle while we wait....

There are no tricks, just pure logic, so good luck...

1. In a street there are five houses, painted five different colours.

2. In each house lives a person of different nationality

3. These five homeowners each drink a different kind of beverage, smoke different brand of cigar and keep a different pet.

THE QUESTION: WHO OWNS THE FISH?

HINTS

1. The Brit lives in a red house.

2. The Swede keeps dogs as pets.

3. The Dane drinks tea.

4. The Green house is next to, and on the left of the White house.

5. The owner of the Green house drinks coffee.

6. The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.

7. The owner of the Yellow house smokes Dunhill.

8. The man living in the centre house drinks milk.

9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.

10. The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.

11. The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.

12. The man who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.

13. The German smokes Prince.

14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.

15. The man who smokes Blends has a neighbour who drinks water.

You can post all that, yet can't delete the thread?

I cut and pasted. On physicsforums we do stupid riddles timed so I had cut it to send to myself via email anyway.

Anyway, the riddle of the deleted thread has been solved...

I've forwarded this thread to the IRS so I hope you plan on reporting that fish as taxable income.

No tricks but the Brit somehow does not drink tea. Um.......I'm calling BS. And I don't know who owns the fish but it ain't the Canadian because the fish would have frozen to death by now.

Isn't "Blue Master" what Frank Lucas peddled? Anyone know from experience whether or not that is smokable? Or maybe "hypothetically" from the perspective of "friend's" testimonials...

Is the green house to the left of the left of the white house as you face the houses or as you look out from the houses?

Slightly to the right of that, assuming that you're talking from the perspective of the Brit.

OK wise guy.....It's the German who has the fish assuming there is a pet of the fish variety. This is true if the green house, which is also the german's is to the left of the white house as you face it.

From the left as you face:

House 1: Yellow Norwegian Water Dunhill Cat

House 2: Blue Dane Tea Blend Horses -- the horses probably have broken some sort of zoning ordinance btw

House 3: Red Brit Milk Pall Mall -- I didn't know they still make those -- Birds

House 4: Green German Coffee Prince Fish

House 5: White, Swede, Beer, Blue Master, Dog

After on and off for over an hour I came up with Norwegian too. I think that's right. (Haven't looked at the answer yet). I have a box matrix and everything.

Edit: Dammit! It is not the Norwegian.

Maybe I'm not in the 2% of the population that Einstein claimed could get this riddle correct.

My guess the answer is German so let us complete the right answer cause it's like this:

German,

House:4

Color:Green

Nationality:German

Drink:Coffee

Smoke:Prince

Pet:Fish! The fish is at the information of German!

So at the Germans information it is said that it's pet is fish so the question is

Who owns the fish and my answer is German.
