Not when it comes to change our basic way of life spelled out by the Constitution. Socialism, communism can't really be tolerated because it's opposite to individual liberty and the constitutional republic. I don't believe there can be any compromise on this. But I agree with you that most all other ideas have to be at least tolerated.
