SageAgainstTheMachine
http://www.cbsatlanta.com/story/18626605/texas-honors-student-jailed-for-excessive-truancy Ms. Tran, a 17 year old, has to work a full-time and part-time job and take advanced placement courses AND care for her younger sister. Now, she has a mark on her record because a judge "wanted to make an example of her". I realize there are more despicable things in the world, but I want to find this guy and punch him in the face. The Poojer
there has to be more to this story...how many days did she miss? how did missing school get elevated to a court issue? the story doesn't address any of these issues. http://www.cbsatlanta.com/story/18626605/texas-honors-student-jailed-for-excessive-truancy Ms. Tran, a 17 year old, has to work a full-time and part-time job and take advanced placement courses AND care for her younger sister. That is odd. As far as I know at 16 you can quit school altogether.

Fingon
The Judge doesn't even have a law degree (doesn't show up on the Texas bar) so what do you expect? He was probably elected on some tough on crime, zero-tolerance BS. The more jail terms he gives out the better he looks to voters in a few years. Just Jack
The Judge doesn't even have a law degree (doesn't show up on the Texas bar) so what do you expect? He was probably elected on some tough on crime, zero-tolerance BS. The more jail terms he gives out the better he looks to voters in a few years. And his name is Lanny. What kind of name is that?
