Between Artpark, Lockport, and Canalside you could see 4-5 shows a week by major acts, and half the shows are free, and the ones you have to pay for cost $10 tops. Free or cheap concerts are a part of life in WNY that a lot of folks take for granted. BTW saw Little Feat at Artpark a couple of summers ago for free. Are they no longer doing the free shows? I knew they were talking about changing that. Even Ballonfest, which used to get current bands (saw Lisa Loeb, Joan Osborne, and Barenaked Ladies in one weekend) can only afford cover bands this year. I think it was ZZ Top last summer than was just ridiculous. I'm really looking forward to J Geils Band on 8/31. I believe Peter Wolf and Magic Dick will both be with the band. I just talked to my brother in Dunkirk and he can't wait to retire and move West to get away from the humidity. When his wife worked for United they flew for free and were going to France like other people go to the movies. Really WNY is terribly humid.
