BillsGuyInMalta Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Oh dear. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/05/24/eagles-hire-tom-donahoe-shuffle-scouting-department/ You know, I've heard a few rumors about Tom Donahoe and his fondness for blood...
Jerry Jabber Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 As senior football advisor, will he recommend to the Eagles getting the lollipop guild for their WR corps (like he did in Buffalo)?
Lurker Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 (edited) Oh dear. Lurie's just the kind of fanboy owner that would buy TD's spiel. Yet another anchor chain around Andy Ried's neck... Eagle's Press Release: "An experienced and successful front office executive, Donahoe has served as the director of football operations of the Pittsburgh Steelers (1991-99) and as the general manager and team president of the Buffalo Bills (2001-05). A native of Mt. Lebanon, PA, Donahoe began his career with the Steelers as a regional scout (1986-88) and was promoted to the team’s director of pro personnel and development (1989-90). He was named the team’s director of football operations in 1991, and played a major role in the Steelers 84-60 record and six playoff appearances in his nine seasons. From 1991-99, the Steelers drafted 12 players who went on to earn 31 Pro Bowl appearances." Gotta love he quick reference to Buffalo, followed by the glowling prose about his time with the Stillers. DrDawkinstein Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Seems like the perfect job. All of the access, with no accountability. Nothing can be pinned as solely his fault. "Hey, I just advised, YOU made the decision."
Mark Vader Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 I'd have thought Bill Polian would have been hired by an NFL team before Donahoe.
eball Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 In an unrelated story, the Eagles have just acquired Willis McGahee from Denver for a 1st and 2nd.
chris heff Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 I'll never forget him going on TV after firing Gregg Williams, and chastising the fans. How stupid to blame the customer and how arrogant.
Shoutbox Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Hey, if you want personnel decisions that will get the most national headlines and that prioritize diminutive skill position players over the offensive and defensive lines.....then Tom Donahoe is your man!
bills_fan Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Get ready for the glowing Eagles reviews on ESPN by Mort....
NoSaint Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Hey, if you want personnel decisions that will get the most national headlines and that prioritize diminutive skill position players over the offensive and defensive lines.....then Tom Donahoe is your man! hmmmm desean jackson, corners galore, mike vick --- Its a fit!
Rico Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Congrats TD! No Modrak back in Philly to help him though?
Fan in San Diego Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Good now the Iggles will draft a RB with a broken leg as a developmental player in the 1st round.
NoSaint Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Good now the Iggles will draft a RB with a broken leg as a developmental player in the 1st round. to be fair, even in hindsight he was probably an average to better than average first rounder in the grand scheme of things.
Nanker Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Could hardly be happier for him and that team. Could not be any unhappier for them either. Maybe this breaks the curse. Mort finally swallows his, ah, eh, em, pride and gushed about the Iggles from here on out, completely forgetting The Bills. !@#$ 'em all.

Best Player Available Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Get ready for the glowing Eagles reviews on ESPN by Mort.... Funny maybe you caught it. Mort announced the Eagles hiring on NFL32. He also threw kudos to Donahue for writing 200 "reports" for ESPN just this past draft. I never new that douche was on the ESPN payroll.

stony Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Last time the Bills almost made the playoffs was when TD was GM. Marv made him look like Polian.
