Thailog80 Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 You're so tough from 3500 miles away. 185237 hehehehe
stuckincincy Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 Here's a suggestion that WORKS for me. Get someone to get you some fresh raw garlic from the supermarket. No pills, no powders. Just the real stuff. Get a lot of it ground up in your food as fresh and raw as you can stand it. Put it in some pasta with red sauce or whatever way you acn eat it with food. If it is really good garlic this will be one tough meal to get down and keep down. But if you can do this a few times in a row, get a lot of rest and drink fluids to replentish your system you will pull out of it. Garlic is a triple-whammy: it’s antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal. Garlic is one food that you should be eating every day. It is important to note that the garlic must be fresh to give you optimal health benefits. The active ingredient is destroyed within one hour of smashing the garlic, so garlic pills are virtually worthless and should not be used. When you use the garlic, compress it with a spoon prior to swallowing it, or put it through your juicer to add to your vegetable juice. If you swallow the clove intact you will not convert the active ingredient, allicin, to its active form. The garlic will burn that stuff out of your system. If you want to include onions and hot peppers with it all the better. I hope you feel better real soon ! 185036 No No No! I like Emeril enough, but his da*n garlic campaign has resulted in restuarant food that stinks of overpowering garlic. What's the use of ordering good food? You could just as well have a plate of manure, 'cause you wouldn't taste anything but that garlic.

I'm trying to cure this young man of the flu so he can party on New Year's Eve. http://www.garlic-central.com/allicin.html

I'd recommend the old Italian recipe...a quart of red, then under the covers to sweat it out!
