My 47 Man Roster.....

I think when push comes to shove, they cut Potter or stick him on the PS. This staff really treasures every roster spot; they're not going to waste one of those spots on a kickoff specialist.

They drafted him as a KO specialist and then after the draft said it is worth a roster spot for a KO specialist if he can kick a touchback 50%+ of the time.

Choice was signed to an extension for a reason. White could be PS'd.

We signed Young and I cannot imagine we would embarrass him or ourselves releasing him after signing him to a 1 year contract. Tannehill or Corp will be PS'd.

If Onubun can be PS'd I think we'd PS him - he or Lee Smith or both will be on this team next year.

???? Man, you just gave the "must-draft-a-1st-round-QB" crowd a boner

Offense (21)

QB...(2) Fitz & Young

RB...(3) Jackson, Spiller & White Choice

FB...(1) McIntrey

TE...(2) Chandler & Smith

OT...(3) Glenn, Pears, Hairston

OG...(3) Levitre, Urbik & Rinehart

C...(1) Woods

WR...(6) Johnson, Easley, Jones, Graham, Smith Hagan & Nelson

Defense (22)

DL...(7) M. Williams, Dareus, K.Williams, Anderson, Kelsay, Troup & Carrington

LB...(6) Barnett, Morrison, Shepard, Bradham, Carder, Merriman

CB...(6) Gilmore, Williams, McGee, Brooks, Rogers & McKelvin

SS...(3) Wilson, Scott & Searcy

FS...(2) Byrd & somebody else

Special Teams (4)

Punter... Moorman Powell

Kickers.. Lyndell and Potter

Long Snapper... Sanborn

Smith is not worth the money they are paying himn and that money can and should be used for Levitre and Byrd. We have lots of other guys that can catch the ball in the end-zone and bring it back from time to time. I chose Hagan due to his size but honestly I think it will be a veteran pick-up as guys start to get cut. WR corp is too young and another veteran who has played could be helpful in the locker room for those guys.

I think Choice beats out White just absed on experience. Three years ago they woudl have went with youth. It is a win now mentality and I think they keep the veteran.

Merriman is an OLB not a DE.

I have no idea who will be the second FS but they will keep 5 including Scott.

I think they keep Mcintyre - he is a demon on special teams and they do use him from time to time. Maybe if they keep White they let him play FB too and McIntyre is let go.

I know they stated they wanted to keep a KO specialist but in the end I think they change their mind and keep Carrington for DE depth.

And lastly I think Moorman is gone. I just think with some of Gailey's comments he doesn't trust Moorman. And while this flies in the face of my keep a veteran arguement, I think they go with a fresh leg and Powell beats him out.

I thought this was clear. But it seems not. Merriman if healthy ( big if? still ) is DE as quoted by Wanny.

Smith will stay and be used this year and listed as qb again i would guess at this point.

D. Jones might get pushed out because he sucks come game time and watch out for Clowney. Hagan i agree has a good chance after his late season performance. Easley remains a question mark that most of us still hope for i think. Graham may not get on the field this year, Thats my upset pick.

I think you were spot on with everything you said until the bolded upset pick (by upset I assume you think he'll be a non-factor this year).

I think Graham will contribute if only because I think Gailey will take extraordinary measures to make sure that he does.

We shall see.

I am assuming there is a 46 man roster and one extra that is active for a 3rd string QB

This my breakdown. Others may have something else... I am not sure how WR/QB/RB Smith works out here...

Bills depth has really improved forcing some good players to be on the 53 man roster...Assuming all are healthy here is who I would start as of right now......

Because of who our special teams coach is, we'll keep Chris white over a sixth cb...if white is healthy of course, if he isn't moats makes the team. Colin brown played well last year don't count him out. Heard > troupe. Onobun> smith.

Last year they only had 2 reserve OL. Chan or Buddy said the would have a swing tackle and the reserve interior guy would have to play both G and C. What do you guys know that your not telling us about the OL.

We have better OLinemen. But yes, we may do the same since they aren't as useful on ST.

I'd replace Troup with Carrington, at this point.

I agree - I can't stand to think of Carrington getting axed, so I hope he's there and I also think we'll have another linebacker to work with; although, you might be correct simply because these linebackers are so interchangeable in this scheme. Most of these guys, in a pinch, could play any of the spots.

And, if there is talent at CB, I think that trumps linebackers because we've got to take out the Patriots, and they're loaded with talent at WR, and the path to the Superbowl not only goes through this division first, but it also will go through some good passing teams.

Good post - I expect it to be pretty accurate.

Let me rephrase and back up my statement. I do not think he will start. i am aware i sound as if i am changing my mind. But i think he will be eased in over time and be very succesful for us. very sucessful indeed. Chan has called him raw, Buddy did also.

I would hate to see him not be all he can be. as my upset pick i think they will hold him back. and folks will be upset. if all goes well he will develop into the # 2. Sorry about my lack of clarity. again, but glad to get a correct response that He will be Chan's WIP!

This looks pretty on point, but I'd play it a little differently.

I have high hopes for Chris Douglas too, but with Choice already signing an extension (and being tight with Gailey), he'll really have to shine in camp/preseason to unseat him.

I don't think they keep Onubun and Dickerson. Unless there's a major change in philosophy, they don't need two WR/hybrid type pass catching TEs. I think they keep Lee Smith or some other TE that is more of a blocker than a pass catcher instead of both Onubun and Dickerson. (I noticed you listed Gilbert as a blocking TE, so obviously you thought about that issue too).

I'm not sure who I would cut to make it happen, but I'd like to keep another WR and I'd like to keep Moats. I want the best men to win the jobs, and I know Moats at this point is probably on the outside looking in but I love his attitude and hopefully Wanny can find a way to utilize his seemingly limited skill set. I'm not as high on Jasper or Moore as a lot of people here are so perhaps one or of them. I know it's risky to put Jasper on the PS, since the Bills have seemingly invested a lot of time developing him. There are a lot of tough decisions to make here.

I also wouldn't be surprised if McKillop takes Chris White's job. McKillop is Wanny's guy from Pittsburgh and had a lot of success there. He hasn't shown much in the NFL and blew out his knee the year before last, but he's still young and if anyone knows how to use him, it's Wanny.

The question about how we use tight ends this year. I expect the mentality to change about Chan and how he "doesnt use tight ends much" theory. I was kind of relieved we re signed Chandler. He IS a good target for Fitz and i expect him to improve enough this year to take notice. And i imagine Lee to be the nasty run blocker.

But we might keep another pass catching Tight end and balance that with taking one player away from the receiving corps. I guess D.Dickerson might be that guy.

Mckillop is interesting. Wannys guy? When we grabbed him it seemed to me like Bills had their Eye on him already. They have been very quiet about what he might offer. I am firm about Morrison being a workhorse and getting it done as base D starter.

Amazing how many project M. Easley as a starteralready. If he is healthy, has studied hard and has been paying attention to everything he might come out of the gate with a bound. Lets hope he his health issues are behind him amd he is on The 47 Man Roster

They use to say the NFL is a copy cat league- I think the Bills defense will take cues from the Giants defense while our offense will take cues from San Fran and New England.
