Owen Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 I am assuming there is a 46 man roster and one extra that is active for a 3rd string QB This my breakdown. Others may have something else... I am not sure how WR/QB/RB Smith works out here... Bills depth has really improved forcing some good players to be on the 53 man roster...Assuming all are healthy here is who I would start as of right now...... Offense (21) QB...(2) Fitz & Young RB...(3) Jackson, Spiller & White FB...(1) McIntrey TE...(2) Chandler & Smith OT...(3) Glenn, Pears, Hairston OG...(3) Levitre, Urbik & Rinehart C...(1) Woods WR...(6) Johnson, Easley, Jones, Graham, Smith & Nelson Defense (22) DL...(7) M. Williams, Dareus, K.Williams, Anderson, Merriman, Kelsay & Troup LB...(5) Barnett, Morrison, Shepard, Bradham, Carder CB...(6) Gilmore, Williams, McGee, Brooks, Rogers & McKelvin SS...(2) Scott & Searcy FS...(2) Byrd & Wilson Special Teams (4) Punter... Moorman Kickers.. Lyndell and Potter Long Snapper... Sanborn
Buffalos#1Fan Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Wilson is a SS and no roosevelt making the team?
uncle flap Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Just a thought... I wonder if McIntyre makes the team. Right or Wrong, the Bills almost never use a FB. His real value is one special teams. Many of the recent additions are supposedly strong special teamers AND play valuable positions. Who knows how it'll shake out, but I could easily see the Bills keeping three TEs, and using one as a full back when necessary.
Owen Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 Wilson plays both FS and SS... I had to put him somewhere... If you want Roosevelt on the starting team it is ok with me ... Then take someone else off... If you add one you have to subtract one... Easier said then done huh.

BRAWNDO Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 This is the first year in a long time the roster is hard to predict and it is a great feeling
DukeyBomb Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Except one thing. Brad Smith will be listed as the 3rd QB.
MARCELL DAREUS POWER Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 like everything, would go 5 cbs, and 8 dlineman..
VanCity Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 As good a guess as any. I wish that there were spots for Carrington and Heard there, but as you stated, who do you cut to keep them? I don't know if we can keep 2 placekickers, so maybe that's one of them. Scott will probably see more time as a nickel LB than a SS, but that's just being picky.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 potter was drafted for kickoffs I think when push comes to shove, they cut Potter or stick him on the PS. This staff really treasures every roster spot; they're not going to waste one of those spots on a kickoff specialist.
Homer Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Id remove RB White and add Carrington to the DT rotation
K-9 Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 I think when push comes to shove, they cut Potter or stick him on the PS. This staff really treasures every roster spot; they're not going to waste one of those spots on a kickoff specialist. Potter will stay I think. They value field position more and it will save some wear and tear on a coming-back-from-injury Lindell. Also, the blurb on the Bills sight about how the return guys couldn't get any work in yesterday because Potter was kicking them too far so he had to move back five yards is a good sign. It's not unusual for teams to carry a KO specialist. I think Wanny likes the idea of each defensive series starting from the opponents 20 after a KO. GO BILLS!!!

Those are just his projected active game day roster. There still six other roster spots open.
ChanOverChin Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 I would make a few possible changesto the game day 47: Offense (21) QB...(3) Fitz & Young & B. Smith (Smith can play QB & WR, which makes him valuable) RB...(3) Jackson, Spiller & Choice (Need 3 RBs; Choice is better than White) FB...(1) McIntyre (FB and great ST player) TE...(2) Chandler & L. Smith (Need 2 TEs) OT...(3) Glenn, Pears, Hairston (Best 3 OTs) OG...(3) Levitre, Urbik & Rinehart (Best 3 OGs) C...(1) Woods (UrbiK would be the backup OC) WR...(5) Johnson, Nelson, Easley, Jones, Graham (Best 5 WRs; Smith makes 6) Defense (23) DL...(8) M. Williams, Dareus, K.Williams, M. Anderson, Merriman, Kelsay, Sp. Johnson & Troup (Need 4 DTs for the 4-3; Johnson is better suited than Edwards & Carrington) LB...(6) Barnett, Morrison, Sheppard, Bradham, Carder, Moats (Moats can play OLB/DE and ST; rushes the passer too well to not keep him) CB...(5) Gilmore, Williams, McGee, Brooks, McKelvin (Rogers is the 6th best CB and one of the top 53) SS...(2) Wilson & Scott (Scott can also play coverage LB) FS...(2) Byrd & Searcy Special Teams (3) Punter... Moorman Kicker.. Lindell (can't afford Potter in top 47 just yet) Long Snapper... Sanborn
Reks Ryan Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Heard over troup on the DL If you listen to what the Bills are saying, Potter will be on the team for KOs. Will likely keep 2 kickers this year. If the kid can be accurate and reliable on FGs he'll eventually take over for Lindell.
boyst Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Choice was signed to an extension for a reason. White could be PS'd. We signed Young and I cannot imagine we would embarrass him or ourselves releasing him after signing him to a 1 year contract. Tannehill or Corp will be PS'd. If Onubun can be PS'd I think we'd PS him - he or Lee Smith or both will be on this team next year.
