Facebook Douche Renounces American Citizenship

Recommended Posts

One of the bit players in the creation of Facebook just renounced his U.S. citizenship in advance of the IPO, so he can save the capital gains tax.

Welcome to reality, liberals. Rich people will take their toys and run. Because they can.

This reminds me of a conversation I had a couple of weeks ago with my brother.

He manages money for one of the richest men in France and the first thing his client told him when it was more than certain that Hollande would win, "make sure you protect my assets from the crazy socialists "

It's not a myth and they can deny it as much as they want, the more you try and take, the more those you are trying to help end up paying.

The state of Illinois recently raised the corporate profit tax rate. The result? Neighboring states are wooing Illinois businesses to cross state lines - and the companies are listening and taking the best offer. Once again, the inability of liberal politicians to understand a competitive market place will bite the middle class deeply in the ass. The consequences are going to be staggering.

Yep. Nothing can be done to change peoples minds. My philosophy is just to make sure that I (and my family) can live a comfortable life despite the garbage around me.

What you see in states like Illinois is ten-fold in Quebec and yet the leeches want more.

Much of the social history of the Western world, over the past three decades, has been a history of replacing what worked with what sounded good.

Alaska Darin is "proving" certain things wrong. He's PROVEN that a capital gains tax will destroy America. He's "proven" that 3% increase in the top tax bracket will enslave the middle class. GTFO w/ that nonsense attitude you jack ass. BOOM :flirt:

(now that's how you PPP mofos)

PS: Thanks for the link in the first post, friend.

Rick Perry has done everything short of build a bullet train that goes directly from California to Texas, standing at the entrance of the train saying nothing more than "Right this way. Please watch your step. Welcome to Texas. Here's your money."

I assume that he's giving up his ability to participate in the U.S. political process in which case I call it a win-In fact I hope they throw a parade and get a couple thousand guys just like him to leave.

Thanks for the typical oversimplification, liberal drone.

What, you don't know how to use Google? I don't think most people need to read an AP Wire story that's nothing more than a long winded version of "Facebook douche renounces American citizenship so he doesn't have to pay capital gains taxes on the IPO."

And for the rest of you tards: It's all about balance. You simply can't raise taxes to unreasonable levels because there will be a relational effect to the negative. Just like you can't continue to enslave entire generations with "benefits" off the backs of the productive to keep your political party relevant.

Yeah, his single vote is worth losing all the other benefits his money provides. Great long view there. Just in case you didn't know, DRONE: He has money. He'll still participate in the U.S. political process using it. It's not against the rules - and his participation will be far more productive than YOURS.

Great and then who will tax revenue come from?

Oh wait, the middle class.

So you think foreigners should participate in the American political process- what a unpatriotic fool you are, I'm sure you can't wait for the Chinese to figure it out, you don't have to spend trillions to compete with the American military just spend a couple hundred million buying American politicians.

Wow I knew Alaskan's were less educated, had high rates of drug use and high rates of rapes and other sex crimes but I didn't know they were unpatriotic as well- you learn something new on PPP everyday.

Except that's not what I said. They DO participate in the American political process and it's not illegal because you !@#$ing drones refuse to hold anyone accountable and continue to play the "lesser of two evils" game. Politicians love your stupidity almost as much as they value your loyalty.

 I totally care what you "think".

You show one douche bag who became a citizen in '98 and renounces in '12 after making his money here and living in Singapore for the last 2 years w/ no plans to return (something a link may show btw). Then say you have proven MDP's politics inadequate? Quite crying you brainwashed political ideologue.

Alaska...where Sarah Palin ruled.

Yes it's only one example. I'm quite certain he's the only wealthy individual who will do everything they can to get around a high tax code

When in doubt, attack Alaska.

Last I checked there are no wealthy Americans. The filthy rich have all renounced citizenship.

The Laffer curve isn't static. It variates relative to economic growth and dynamism, a certain tax code at a specific point in time may generate more tax revenues but at another point in time it may generate less. Right now, as slow as the economy is, lower tax rates would be more beneficial for our economy since we are in dire need of growth. It's not the be all and end all determining factor in how to reinvigorate this economy, but it certainly is a part of the equation.

Under Bill Clinton, as a result of the Dot com bubble we had a booming economy, higher marginal tax rates (lowered capital gains taxes) didn't negatively impact the economy simply because there was so much growth, the economy could absorb those higher rates. Right now, we have below historic trendline growth, any increases in taxes would simply hamper growth more so than what we are already seeing.
