boyst
But Apple is the best! They invented the mouse, MP3 player, flat screen monitors, and it means you can use a $5,000 laptop to use facebook! They're the best!

DrDawkinstein
Eh, nothing a simple update cant/wont fix. No matter what type of OS you use, it all comes down to not being stupid with your internet usage. Dummies on secure systems will get themselves hacked, and smart folks on open systems will remain safe. I'll keep my smooth running, reliable MacBooks every time. DrDawkinstein
Spoken like a true fanboy. Haha, fair enough. But also spoken like a guy who spends all day fixing other people's problems, so when I go home, the last thing I want to do is have to fix my machine as well. Fezmid
No, they paid for it. Xerox was stupid. No they didn't. "Around 1981 Xerox included mice with its Xerox Star, based on the mouse used in the 1970s on the Alto computer at Xerox PARC. Sun Microsystems, Symbolics, Lisp Machines Inc., and Tektronix also shipped workstations with mice, starting in about 1981." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mouse_%28computing%29 Also, read this and learn: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_Engelbart
kegtapr
My PC crash twice today . . . My home builds haven't crashed in 5 years. Same or more computing power of apple for half the cost. The problem isn't the OS anymore, it's the cheap parts manufactures put in them that don't play nice. And no, I'm not a fanboy of either, love my PC, love my iphone. A million bucks in the 80s for a tour. The Xerox engineers were freaked out and knew that "tour" meant that Jobs et al. would take the tech. Jobs even got to see early windowing concepts that they took and improved. The famous line is that Jobs offered Xerox 1M to "open its kimono." So, you better bet they paid for it. And you better bet that Xerox was stupid. Edited May 8, 2012 by John Adams

I was replying to the mouse comment -- which Apple didn't use until 1984 and a half-dozen other companies had used before Apple's Lisa. Yes, they had a tour (along with other companies), but they hardly "stole" the mouse from Xerox. Other technologies are obviously up for debate.
