Kevin Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Saw this on another board....no one seems sure. Alex Tanney twitter Funny. I wonder why there wasn't more hype around this guy?
cjbills69 Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 (edited) Saw this on another board....no one seems sure. Alex Tanney twitter Good Find all reports say he signed with the Steelers though. But I hope he changed his mind and decided on the Bills Edited May 1, 2012 by cjbill69
BRAWNDO Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 I guess the Bills agree with the board that Thigpen is not a quality backup?
PIZ Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 Can't take credit for finding this.....someone on another board found it. The twitter looks encouraging.....invited to Steelers camp, but saw a better opportunity in Buffalo. Would be cool to have him in camp.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 The Bills are having open tryouts that weekend, methinks since he was not announced as one of those UDFAs thats what he's in town for.
Lurker Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 (edited) Good Find all reports say he signed with the Steelers though. But I hope he changed his mind and decided on the Bills Yeah, he was set to try out for the Steelers so it's interesting that he supposedly showing up in Orchard Park instead... Worth a tryout according to Narwocki Edited May 2, 2012 by Lurker
patfitz Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 If this guy can come close to repeating this when the real bullets are flying we may have the most accuate QB in the NFL, let's dream it is possible: Tricked out QB
eball Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 The guy has got good size (6'3") and turned down the Steelers to come to the Bills minicamp. Give him a shot!
T.O. Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 (edited) It would make a great NFL story line. We do not know his football acumen or his ability to absorb a NFL play book, reaction under pressure etc. but it's hard to argue about his ability to place a football and his arm strength. Give him a shot maybe he can be that 3rd QB developmental project on our roster. The little bit of college game tape I saw of him looked pretty good even though his resume was against non Division I schools. Definitely worth the chance though! Also I thought I read the Pittsburgh Steelers already signed Alex Tanney QB Monmouth college to to a contract. Is that true or not? Edited May 2, 2012 by T.O.
BillsFanForever19 Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 He isn't signed to anyone. He was going to come into the Steelers rookie mini-camp to tryout. But he changed his mind and decided the better opportunity was to come to our mini-camp. http://m.galesburg.com/regmail/pm_29495/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=eoSsxIzy

Mr. WEO Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Really? 2 Alex Tanney threads?? Anyway, why would anyone want this guy on the roster--for halftime entertainment maybe? We would be better off with the guy who left USC.
Just in Atlanta Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Imagine the possibilities. Stevie Johnson in the back of a pickup on the left. Freddie Jackson sitting on the goalposts... We'd be unstoppable.
Lurker Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Nice story, but in every game video I've seen of this kid, he's thowing rainbows instead of bullets--even on short outs. He's accurate for sure, but I don't see the ability to throw on a rope...
