Lurker Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Well, he's got to be a better wildcat option than Brad Smith...
Mopreme Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Why not, former first round pick. Probably an upgrade to what the Bills currently have on the team.
\GoBillsInDallas/ Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 WGR says he flew in this morning: http://wgr550.com/Vince-Young-At-Airport-This-Morning/12999856
nucci Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Why not, former first round pick. Probably an upgrade to what the Bills currently have on the team. Not if you base it on last year with the Eagles, which may be unfair...
34-78-83 Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Interesting considering Vince and Mario were the hotly debated "who should be the 1st pick in the draft for the Texans?" back in 2006 .
NoSaint Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 I'm not mad about it. Not a guy I make a centerpiece but can be a top flight backup in a good situation and this seems to be the low pressure, highly supportive, place that could level him out some.
Peter Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 The guy no doubt has some skills. I also think that Chan would be able to maximize those skills.
Armchair GM Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Why not, former first round pick. Probably an upgrade to what the Bills currently have on the team. Ummm...but the Eagles opted for Trent Edwards rather than bringing VY back...?
mattsox Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Oh curseword. Why? Exactly! I'll take my chances with Thigpen as the backup rather than this idiot.
NoSaint Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Not if you base it on last year with the Eagles, which may be unfair... The glitzy lockerroom with high profile me guys is the epitome of the wrong place for him to get his head square. I'm not saying he will here, but it's better.
dpberr Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Three things to keep in mind: 1. Trent Edwards made Vince Young expendable. Yes, that Trent Edwards. 2. Vince Young has all the talent in the world and 0.0% of it consists of work ethic. 3. Even the QB Renovation Realities of franchises decided to not to keep him around. Is he better than Thigpen? Not sure. Threw four interceptions in a game last year against last year. I don't think he's "that" guy anymore.
erynthered Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Interesting considering Vince and Mario were the hotly debated "who should be the 1st pick in the draft for the Texans?" back in 2006 . I thought it was Reggie Bush and Mario??
The Big Cat Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 The guy no doubt has some skills. I also think that Chan would be able to maximize those skills. Couldn't have said it better myself. He has nothing left to lose, and with Thigpen as our backup, neither do we. There is no--REPEAT, NO--harm in this.
Lurker Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 No matter what, though, I like the fact it sends a message that the Bills are being aggressive about adding talent (we can debate that in Young's case) to the rest of the league and says they are in "win now" mode. It's sure to get them some airtime with the national talking heads, if nothing else...
808 Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 i think its a good move to bring him in. see where hes at mentally and if hes willing to be a backup. i actually thought the bills shoulda have gone after him when he first became available. i think chan could work well him his attributes.
Bills of Boston Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 No harm in this... far better than any of our backups... this is one of those things to NOT worry about
