Just Jack Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Decent article on the difference between the NFL draft back in the early 70's versus today, with Buffalo picking first. Poliquin: Forty years ago, in the 1972 NFL Draft, CBA's Walt Patulski was Andrew Luck (i.e., No. 1) “I flew to New York City,” Patulski recalled, “and went, I believe, to the Waldorf-Astoria. And when I got there I just kind of popped out of the box when they announced my name. The draft wasn’t anything like it is today. Not at all. But at the same time, it was still a pretty big deal. I held the jersey up. They took a lot of pictures. There was a press conference.” And? “And,” he announced, “that was kind of it.”
BRAWNDO Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 And "that was kind of it" I think that describes his entire career with the Bills. Bills Fans nicknamed him Ferdinand the Bull. Interesting comparison of how much things have changed with the draft.
Haven Moses Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Who can ever forget Patulski's Polish Army...The Pole Patrol to the Super Bowl...
