I think Cosell is one of the best in the business, and so that is obviously encouraging. But he is wrong a lot, too. Still, even if he was the second rated CB, and we got him at 10, that is still a very solid pick.

I'm surprised that this post isn't getting a lot of fanfare. This is excellent info from some very credible sources. I'm thrilled to have confidence in our administration and not worried about their talent evaluation decisions.

after the pick i had to dig. As of right now Yes, i think we nailed it. In more ways than one. Damn fine kid/player and pleased to have him on the team.

This is good info. I don't care if some random Bills fan thinks Gilmore is better than Claiborne. But King's and Cossell's quotes are impressive. Makes me feel better about the pick which surprised me somewhat when it happened.

You didn't read my draft compendium? How could you miss it?

I clearly stated don't be suprised if Gilmore is drafted.

It's Michael Floyd....not Malcolm. Of all people, Floyd's biggest fan doesn't know his name? Or was your sig taken from another's quote?

Nope just an honest mistake.

Love the Gilmore pick. Love the brooks pick. Love Williams and Rogers last year. CB is now a strength. Our defense looks good. I hope stache can live up to his billing.

Dam, that was quick lol. I give this draft an early "A-". If graham turns out to be productive it can be an A+. We now have crazy depth at OL, Cb and DL. Our LBs look to have a nice infusion of talented youth by adding Bradham and carder. LB depth looks much improved. Our WRs are still bleh, but if our protection improves maybe our wrs will too.

How would you grade it?

B B+ and I reserve the write to eat my words on TJ Graham if he pans out and upgrade to an A.

I Feel like the 3rd, 6th and 7ths were misfires and the rest were great to excellent picks.

I disagree with much of your signature and draft grades.

Graham would not have been an UDFA. He may have been taken within 10 picks after us. At the latest, the 4th round. You got suckered in by the Kipers of the world.

Potter was a solid pick up. Good kickoff specialist and will single handily help field position.

I hear ya on rd 3, 6, 7. I don't think Asher or the kicker make the team. I'd prefer we don't have a roster spot dedicated to a kickoff specialist. Like Ruvell Martin last year as a ST player, only he got some time at Wr. I can't see martin making the team now that we added brooks, Bradham and carder. Good riddance

I disagree with a couple of his grades as well , but not by much.

Gilmore- A-

Glenn- A

Graham- D

Brooks- A+

Bradham- A-

Sanders- A

Carder- B+

Asher- C-

Potter- F

My reason for my grades are stated here. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/145380-my-thoughts-on-the-draft/

Awesome dude, I'm so glad that you're going to argue that the 3 & 7th were good picks.

Great evidence and insight because i can see your point that NFL kickers have trouble putting the ball out the back of the end zone with the rule change. Thanks.

Is Rian Lindell an NFL kicker? I sure hope so, considering he is currently our kick off specialist. And that "NFL kicker" does have A LOT of trouble getting the ball to the back of the endzone. In fact, he's 4th last in the entire NFL in getting the ball to the back of the endzone. He has a miserable 28% success rate.

I don't know if Graham was a good pick, but he certainly wasn't a UDFA. Thats what I questioned of yours. Not that he was a good pick.

Actually, you stated "don't be surpassed" if he was drafted, though you did surely intend to state that he was a good possibility. I see your points with 3,6 and 7 as they are, to the layman, the obvious question marks. A large number of people on this board have expressed complete support and belief in Chix and this draft will lead the rest to either follow suit or bring out the torches and pitchforks. Personally, I have seen a great deal of improvement on paper this offseason and the players that have been brought in under this regimes walk are generally great contributors. I wouldn't have picked TJ in that spot, but the OL needs depth and we saw what happened when Lindell went down last season. If a 6th or 7th fails, then you are 90% of the teams in the league this year. Cold, hard facts.

i'm just sitting here wondering how anyone in their right mind could grade a draft pick as an F just days after he was picked. with the exception of passing on the selection all together, or picking a fedex worker from montana who has never played a down of football in his life, who the !@#$ are we to start calling a draft pick a failure before he's put the pads on?

There are some people on this board who will vehemently argue to death that Claiborne is way better. I should know I have argued the same point and provided more than enough info to prove these facts; hopefully you have more luck

He played great with a lot less on defense. I for one think our 2 CBs will be great players for years to come

Personally think depends what type of defense you play and what ask them to do. Clairborne is better man coverage and Gilmore is better in zone IMO.

I was corrected by NewEra on this. and another reason why Gilmore is a better/best fit for us. Wannys playing zone mostly. and you have a good point when it comes down to details such as this. 3 years of experience at it right?
