jjmac Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Wow. A kicker. Post your reaction. I found out about this at the end of a long day taking advantage of a retiree benefit by shopping at Fort Drum, and then the light bulb came on, aided by Jim Beam Devil's Cut. Let Potter kick off, and Lindell handle FGs. I like it. Develop Potter, and let him take over full-time when he's ready. I really, really like it.
EC-Bills Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Wow. A kicker. Post your reaction. It's about !@#$ing time we got our franchise kicker. Team him up with our franchise long snapper and we are golden!!!!
Malazan Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 I can't believe they wasted this pick when ******* was still available. This team is going nowhere.
Dragonborn10 Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Kickers aren't on practice squads. Those spots are reserved for tackling dummies. In fact he is really no better than ice - both will be used to rest Lindell's leg in camp. When he gets cut after the third pre-season game he goes home kicks at his local high school and hopes a kicker tries to tackle somebody and gets hurt. No way he beats out Lindell.

No, but he can be the kickoff specialist so Lindell doesn't get hurt again.
Arkady Renko Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Long snapper, Wildcat QB and kickoff specialist? There's not room for all three. I know, I know. Seventh round picks are just camp fodder...
bowery4 Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Good teams drafts sometimes have room for kickers. This is a depth draft, I hope we are that good now. The FO thinks so. I like the whole draft at this point. Should be an interesting camp. Go Bills!!
poo Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 If he can kick it out the back of the end zone on kickoffs I will love this seventh round pick.
Green Lightning Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 what the hell does BPA mean. I am old and don't understand all this new abbreviated stuff I see on this board. No disrespect intended. In this case -best punter available.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Chix sucks! Meh. You're supposed to say, "Buddy's sleeping." "Wake up Buddy!" is also acceptable. The rejoinder then is "Ralph is cheap." We all agreed on this. Get with the program. After how well they did as a whole in the first 5 rounds, I think it's pretty baller that they called it a day with a Kicker. "AND a Kicker! What! In yo face!" I guess you could call Potter, "the point after." He hurt his shoulder - he will be back. I thought we agreed to call it "an upper-body injury." Why is no one following the agreed upon rules? It's about !@#$ing time we got our franchise kicker. Team him up with our franchise long snapper and we are golden!!!! Not so fast, EC. We still have to find our franchise holder. Let's not allow the excitement of the draft cloud our thinking.
Buckeye Eric Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 A friend of mine works at W Mich. He witnessed the kickoffs through the uprights! The guy is the real deal.
Fisher Bills Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 I like the pick, he will boot every kickoff through the uprights, basically giving every team we play no chance of getting a kickoff return. it is smart, didnt dallas do this last year or so and it worked out? every drive will start on the 20, cant argue with that
Offside Number 76 Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 If the kid beats out Lindell and wins a spot, fine. (I have grave doubts.) Otherwise, this was a waste. They could have taken Kinne to back up Fitz, or freaking someone who has a chance of making the roster. This looks like a personal favor or something. I don't expect too much out of compensatory picks in round 7, but I do hope for more than this. Then again, it was a very, very solid draft.

So the fact that this guy is an instant touchback has no value to you?
Arkady Renko Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 So the fact that this guy is an instant touchback has no value to you? There are only 53 spots. If he gets on the team and doesn't supplant Lindell, then the long snapper most likely goes. You can only keep so many specialists.

Who is Yuri? Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Love the pick. Love the video of him kicking it out of the stadium and destroying kick returners. However, , Nix blew it by not selecting him in an earlier round. Four words: asleep on the job.

Yes, but they don't carry a specialized long snapper usually as well. So if the Bills sign a dedicated franchise holder, you're gonna be upset?
