DC Tom
That's one of the dumber things I've heard come from a Veep since Dan Quayle stopped talking.
Koko78
What the !@#$ is Uncle Joe smoking, and where can I get some? I will almost be sad to see him exit the national stage next January. The 'human gaffe machine' is always good for a chuckle and for many many wtf moments.

UConn James
It's gotta be true. Joe sneaks peeks at O's big stick while they're in the sauna. Seriously, tho, they're trying to set up the farce that Obama is the only one who could or would have ordered the bin Laden strike. As many here commented at the time, Obama was far from the pointy end of the spear and yet here his campaign is, beating their chests on it. The truth is, the CIA, alphabet soups, and the military do what they do and come to the president with several options. Any president's hands are basically tied in 95% of military matters. Wonder why GITMO is still open? Because the military rank and file wants it open. Guaranteed that if they had come to the Oval with actionable intel on Obl and a president said, 'Nah' .... that's dangerous territory for a CIC to be in, even here. If the military doesn't have your confidence and vice versa, you're basically toast. And you'll be lucky if they don't JFK your ass.

Actually, Gitmo's still open because nobody can figure out what to do with the gomers there if they close it. States won't take 'em, nobody in their right mind wants to associate POWs/terrorists with the organized criminal element in this country, DoJ can't even figure out exactly what their status is. Gitmo's still open because it basically can't be closed, and no one cares because it's politically inconvenient to call this President out on it. And if Obama really has a "big stick" in the Teddy Roosevelt sense...what, exactly, is all this dicking around with Syria?
Nanker
And now of course Al Qaeda is vanquished according to this administration. What they've been busy doing is taking the leaders out with cruise missiles and shots to the head and taking no prisoners. Prisoners are messy. You have to detain them, feed and cloth them and care for their every religious want. It's much more enlightened to simply kill them. Perhaps another Nobel peace prize is in the works. Of course, the downside is that you lose all intelligence about their operations and network of underlings and their plans to attack us in the future. A few months of breathing in that vacuum might lead some to believe that Al Qaeda is vanquished.
