Beerball Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 link What is the likelihood if Michael Floyd or Justin Blackmon is available at the 10 spot, that we pull the trigger? 12:01 Buddy Nix: I think one of them will be there. I'll leave it at that. What position other than quarterback do you have grades that are worthy of the tenth pick 12:02 Buddy Nix: We've got grades on all positions that are equal to the 10th pick. Hi Buddy, Do you see Riley Reiff as a left or right tackle in the NFL and is his arm length a concern for playing on the left side? Regards Matt Australia 12:04 Buddy Nix: His arm length is a concern and in my opinion is a better run blocker than pass protector right now. Is draft day the most "fun" day of the year for you? 12:16 Buddy Nix: Winning on Sunday is the most fun day. Which NEED is more important on this upcoming draft day, LB OR CB? 12:18 Buddy Nix: CB, you can't get enough of them with the way offenses are going. etc. etc. etc.
Awwufelloff Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Interesting. Floyd not ruled out because he did not visit! =P 12:18 Comment From Thomas Do you ever rule out a prospect based on his visit to One Bills Drive? 12:18 Buddy Nix: No
Cash Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 12:13 Comment From Nathan Any chance you guys will draft a Tight End at some point? 12:13 Buddy Nix: No, probably not.
PromoTheRobot Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 (edited) Buddy thinks WRs are deep this draft. Emphatic NO on Bills on Hard Kocks PTR Edited April 24, 2012 by PromoTheRobot
Awwufelloff Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 12:22 Comment From matt do you take a player off your board completely becuase of character concerns 12:22 Buddy Nix: Occasionally. Each case is different. 12:25 Comment From Greg Is there a "no brainer" picks at 10 in your mind? 12:25 Buddy Nix: There is. I don't know if he'll be there.
Cash Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Comment From Greg Is there a "no brainer" picks at 10 in your mind? 12:25 Buddy Nix: There is. I don't know if he'll be there. You beat me to it on this one. Very intriguing. Hopefully Buddy tells us who it is after the draft.
GG Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 link Which NEED is more important on this upcoming draft day, LB OR CB? 12:18 Buddy Nix: CB, you can't get enough of them with the way offenses are going. etc. etc. etc. Did I just hear a loud bang on Long Island?
Cash Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Comment From George WR don't usually make an impact as a rookie is that go into who you might pick at 10. 12:27 Buddy Nix: yes it does. We want somebody to make an impact at 10.
Deep2Moulds46 Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I tried to ask him what number Michael Floyd would be wearing, but they didn't answer it for some reason
dayman Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 (edited) Pretty clear LB isn't happening at 10 so get over it. Also, we'll have a WR and CB within the first 3 rounds (probably first 2). Also no Barron that much was obvious from the chat. Edited April 24, 2012 by TheNewBills
Awwufelloff Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 He also said he would be drafting 2 WR during the draft. =0
Metal Man Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I asked him if drafting or signing a certain FA is ever even slightly influenced by what the fans would like to help ticket sales. It didn't make the cut though... not that he would have answered anything other than absolutely not most likely but it would have been interesting to get an honest take on that because I have always been curious how much that thinking goes into the process.
dayman Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 He also said he would be drafting 2 WR during the draft. =0 He just said we would add two, not draft two.
LABills08 Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Hahaha. I can't believe GMs are doing this kind of thing, but its interesting. Btw, the guy who he has as a no brainer at 10 has to be Kalil or Gilmore. Sounds like a definite no on WRs.
MikeSpeed Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Comment From George WR don't usually make an impact as a rookie is that go into who you might pick at 10. 12:27 Buddy Nix: yes it does. We want somebody to make an impact at 10. Sounds like we won't be taking a WR at #10
dayman Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Guys he just said it makes an impact. He also talked about Vincent Jackson being one of his greatest picks and how he made probowl right away.
MikeSpeed Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I'd be interested in knowing which GM's have called him about trades.
cody Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 You beat me to it on this one. Very intriguing. Hopefully Buddy tells us who it is after the draft. He will say it was the person they end up picking. You do not often hear GMs saying "We wanted Jones but he went two picks before ours."
MikeSpeed Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Guys he just said it makes an impact. He also talked about Vincent Jackson being one of his greatest picks and how he made probowl right away. Yes but Jackson was a second round pick. The risk of getting an impact player there is less.
