boyst
that started from one domesticated Ox. Everyone here may not be an avid cattle person or things that go moo similar to me, but this is just neat. A mix between science and history revealing one of the oldest professions origins in the world on something we all agree about! FOOD! Nonetheless, it is interesting. My breed, Charolais, originated in the Charolles region of France where they became one of the earliest breed herds. A guy there was one of the first to do a herd book and record information about his animals. This large frame and heavily muscled animal gained great fame in the 70's and 80's as these continental animals were found to be suitable all across the country from the upper midwest to all parts of Texas. The Brittish breeds, specifically Angus, have since taken over popularity and prior to Charolais the Hereford breed was king of the land.
