JimBob2232 Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 This just seems unreal. This happens every year. Simply amazing.
Wayne Cubed Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 They didn't last year Yea I guess one year off after 3 in a row is nice treat
Kelly the Dog Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Put it this way, it probably pisses them off more than it does us, it's not like they usually need it.
JimBob2232 Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 Maybe a good model would be to have us come off a buy and play them, then the reverse happen later on in the season...
WhiteCat Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 The truly fair way would be to give an entire division a bye the same week, and have them play each other the next week. No one has the advantage. I've even sent this idea to the league office, but it probably makes too much sense.
MattM Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Yea I guess one year off after 3 in a row is nice treat  I believe it was 4 in a row actually. Odds of that happening randomly--about 4,000 to 1. Someone really ought to investigate this. If I recall correctly after our 4 years in a row (years like this year more often than not when folks thought (wrongly as it turns out) that we were the biggest threat to the Pats*) the cheats got the Fins after their bye--of course that was after Miami had won the AFCE the year prior. Something's rotten in Denmark....
Doc Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 They didn't last year And how'd that turn out for them? Funny that after they get beaten, the bye week before playing the Bills comes back. This is not by chance.
MattM Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 And how'd that turn out for them? Funny that after they get beaten, the bye week before playing the Bills comes back. This is not by chance. Â Plus one......
Mr. WEO Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 And how'd that turn out for them? Funny that after they get beaten, the bye week before playing the Bills comes back. This is not by chance. Â Are you saying the pats can only beat us when/because they have an extra week to prepare?
NoSaint Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 And how'd that turn out for them? Funny that after they get beaten, the bye week before playing the Bills comes back. This is not by chance. Why'd we lose the other game all those years?
Roger Goodell Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 And how'd that turn out for them? Funny that after they get beaten, the bye week before playing the Bills comes back. This is not by chance. Â I was afraid someone was going to figure it out!
Doc Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Are you saying the pats can only beat us when/because they have an extra week to prepare? No. Just that the Pats getting a bye week before a Bills game is NOT by chance.
Mr. WEO Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 No. Just that the Pats getting a bye week before a Bills game is NOT by chance. Â Â What good does it do them then? If someone was looking to give them an advantage why wouldn't they give them a bye before a more difficult opponent, instead of one they have beaten, what--14 of the last 16 times? Â Your conspiracy theory lacks a certain...logic.
Billshank Redemption Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 never really took the time to do that research but that really is some bull ****

Your conspiracy theory lacks a certain...logic. I don't need a theory, doc. Since 2004 and including this coming season, the Pats have had a bye before playing the Bills 5 times. I'd be surprised to learn that any team had more than 2 byes before playing any particular team over that same time span.

Doc Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Which is a means to what ends? Perhaps it helps them? Or they feel it helps? I don't know, but it's far from coincidental that 5 out of the past 9 seasons they've had one.
Best Player Available Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 No. Just that the Pats getting a bye week before a Bills game is NOT by chance. It would be a great question to E-Mail the Commish. However the Bills to my knowledge don't seem to care?
Optometric Insight Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Well I guess there goes my big prediction for this season, sweeping the New England Patriots. I was looking forward to watching espn and NFL Network talking about the Bills clinching the division by sweeping the Pats.
