That is a great song...Marcels are the best, but there have been quite a few great covers as well...Elvis coming most immediately to mind.

Buftex Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Actually I think their version was a cover too. Yeah, actually a Rodgers & Hart tune, but I am not sure who recorded it first. I've heard so many versions, Elvis, Patsy Cline, Mel Torme, and even Bill Monroe...interesting that it was actually written by some of the old show tune guys...... As for contemporaries, always liked the Cowboy Junkies version of it...they changed the words some, but Margo Timmons has such a great voice...
