KRC Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Hi guys!! As some of you may know, i have a football blog in France, quite well readen and one of the two or three serious football sites in France writing about what's going on in our leagues. For about 20 years all french football loving people think they know something for sure: the one and only frenchmen who ever started in the NFL has been Richard Tardits of the Cards and Patriots in the early 90ies. And then suddenly today i learn in fact the first frenchman who played in the NFL was a Bill: Charles Romes the CB of the 70ies and early 80ies who was born in Verdun France in 1954 (in a US Army base, from american parents, but well as all children born in France he's french!!) So now i dream to interview him for the blog!! Does anyone here know what he has become? how i could find him? Let me check my little black book. I might have something.
Pete Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Him and Mario Clark were a good combo weren't they? great combo and Tony Greene at safety
San Jose Bills Fan Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Really? Did you check his user name? Vorpma is the Hungarian word for "sarcasm."
Pete Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Vorpma is the Hungarian word for "sarcasm." I prefer egeszsegere. Man that is one difficult language!
hondo in seattle Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 I remember Charles Rome... good DB. And I remember France. My mom's from Drancy and I think I have a second-cousin named Olivier in or near Paris.
olivier in france Posted April 10, 2012 Author Posted April 10, 2012 Well, there is a nice piece of info. How about the Bills' public relations department? They should have a line on the whereabouts of ex-Bills. Nice to see your post, Olivier, and how about posting a link to your blog? Oops, few of us can read French, I suppose, but post it anyway. Merci! elitefoot.blogspot.com
KRC Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Sorry. Nothing in my files. If you need contact info for someone at the Bills or Chargers, PM me.
Preston Ridlehuber Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Didn't he drop the interception that would have sealed a victory over the Chargers just before the touchdown pass?
thewildrabbit Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Charles Romes and Mario Clark, the Bills were one of the best pass defense teams in the NFL....too bad they were one of the worst against the run
olivier in france Posted April 12, 2012 Author Posted April 12, 2012 So far i'm unlucky. Nothing at the Bills alumni, his college, facebook...
RJ (not THAT RJ) Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Didn't he drop the interception that would have sealed a victory over the Chargers just before the touchdown pass? He certainly did, alas.
jumbalaya Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 He used to hang out at the Pierce Arrow in West Seneca along with a lot of other Bills players. Nice guy.
