Am I reading that wrong or does it sound like the only deaths may be pets. If that's the case, this sounds damn near miraculous.

It's not a miracle, it's "people being at work".

Reminds me of the old joke about minorities dying in a fire yet the whites survived. When asked why, the fire chief replies "they were at work".

This is for the most part a retirement community complex. So this is a miracle if it holds true.

Happened 4 miles from my office. Reports are the pilot dumped as much fuel as he could before ejecting. Can't imagine how big the fire would have been had he not done that.

In this day and age, nobody, including the Military, is flying around with a bunch of excess fuel. The exception would be Air Force 1, where money is no object.

 

If it's true that he had time to dump fuel, he should have had time to set it down in the Ocean. Hope there was no loss of life.

Friday evening, Captain Mark Weisgerber with Strike Fighter Wing Atlantic said at a press conference that the plane went down because of a mechanical failure and that the dumping of fuel was not intentional.
