3rdnlng Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I'll start it off with his transparency promise that he obviously has never kept.
DC Tom Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I'll start it off with his transparency promise that he obviously has never kept. But I wouldn't hold that against him. One man - even if he is the president - can't change the entire government bureaucracy. The real complaint there isn't breaking the promise, but being naive enough to think it was even possible to begin with.

He also said he was going to close Guantanomo and keep unemployment under 8%. You can say he was naive or unprepared or just bullschitting all along, but they are still broken promises.

Oh and he was not going to employ lobbyists http://washingtonexaminer.com/politics/2010/02/obama-makes-mockery-his-own-lobbyist-ban/17568 http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/State_of_the_Union/state-union-2010-fact-check-president-obamas-address/story?id=9680549#.
OCinBuffalo Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Shovel-Ready is mine, and it's multi-faceted: First he talks about the wondrous shovel ready jobs readily available if we would only elect him, and then after election, support he non-Keynesian Keynesian Stimulus. Then he hits the wall of regulation he and his party have supported for 50 years Then he jokes about shovel ready jobs not being ready Then he proceeds to go out and attack Republicans for wanting to get rid of the regulations that played a major part in killing his own promises He has the memory of a fruit fly, or he thinks we do.
Dave_In_Norfolk Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Really? You guys are really this dumb? Obama, like all presidents, makes promises he can't keep. No news there. But Romny hasn't just changed policy, he's trying to be on both sides of the ideological divide. Obama is a progressive, we know that. But what is Romney? Today a Conservative, tomorrow, what, a moderate? Once elected a Progressive again? Who the he'll knows. This thread is stupid

B-Man Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 The above video from the RNC compares Obama’s 2011 speech on the House budget to Obama’s 2012 speech on the House budget. The orator in Chief is often accused of rehashing used talking points in speeches, both from lack of imagination, and due to the fact that, having failed to tackle any problems effectively, he constantly has to address the same problems. As you can see above, it’s a valid criticism. .

Just for ***** and giggles can you tell me which promises from his first capaign Bush failed to make good on?

OCinBuffalo Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Really? You guys are really this dumb? Obama, like all presidents, makes promises he can't keep. No news there. The difference is, every other President has learned from breaking their promises. Instead, Obama is recycling speeches, and still not understanding that it is his support of tired old failed policies, that is the primary reason his supposedly new, promising policies....fail. But Romny hasn't just changed policy, he's trying to be on both sides of the ideological divide. Yeah, seeing both sides of an issue and trying to play it from the middle....that's exactly what we don't need. How does Obama claim to be a uniter, while only operating from the extreme left on everything but drone strikes? Yeah, let's keep an extremist in the WH, or, put another extremist in Santorum in his place. Good plan. What a shock that it comes from DiN. What a schlock.

Well, besides the "Do-nothing Congress" that has been doing or trying to do things (note the story that came out the other week that revealed it was Obama who walked away at the Eleventh Hour from debt reduction legislation where the Republicans had agreed to billions in tax increases to go with spending cuts. That was going to be bad for Obama's re-election narrative, so....), by Dave in Nor F^€£'s regurgitation of the talking points memo, they're evidently going to try a "The devil you know..." argument. Around October, we'll probably be hearing from them about how Romney is part of the Zombiepocalypse and/or has cooties.
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 (edited) yes he broke promises just like every other guy running for pres. At least he waited months to Flip Flop and not 3 hours like poor Mitt did a few weeks ago. but hey look at how things have improved. Bin Laden is fish food, Muammar Gaddafi is gone. In America the Big 3 are selling cars like gangbusters, the housing market has had improvements, the GDP has improved, the War in Iraq is over, the markets have increased 75% from when he took office, unemployment claims are at a 4 year low and the unemployment rate that peaked in October 2009 at 10.0% (a carry over of the 2008 crash) and is now 1.7 percentage points lower to 8.3%. It still kills me that people crowing about 8.3% unemployment as though it's an accomplishment thought that 5.5% under Bush was a "jobless recovery".
IDBillzFan Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 ...unemployment claims are at a 4 year low and the unemployment rate that peaked in October 2009 at 10.0% (a carry over of the 2008 crash) and is now 1.7 percentage points lower to 8.3%. Not sure if you're aware of this, but the unemployment rate ONLY began improving the moment the GOP took over Congress. Prior to that, it had only gone up when the left controlled everything. Just sayin'...
