San Jose Bills Fan Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/29/marcus-stroud-contemplating-a-comeback/ It was just about a year ago that Stroud signed a 2-year contract with the Cheatriots***. He was subsequently released by the team in late July. I remember at last year's league meeting where a TV crew cornered Gailey and was asking him about Stroud signing with New England. Gailey clearly didn't want to talk about it and was obviously trying to be as polite about Stroud as he could. It seemed to me that what he wanted to say was that "the Cheatriots*** are idiots for signing him because Marcus has zero left in the tank." I wish I could find that video. edit: BTW, Stroud was cut partly due to a bum shoulder which he had operated on. After that he contracted a staph infection in that shoulder and he says that he's completely healthy now. In other news regarding former Bills D-linemen, former DE Anthony Hargrove signed with Green Bay today.

boyst Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 He also seems to like former Bills with little left in the tank. I only wonder if it has something to do with picking their brain about the Bills.
RalphOP83 Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Stroud was in buffalo about 2 weeks back no lie. My brother mentioned he stopped in for wings (he always stops @ this bar for wings when in buffalo and came in after every game while playing for the bills) and I didn't think anything of it til I saw he was considering a comeback.
Buftex Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 (edited) I think Stroud was a good player, but the Bills just got him at the wrong time. Good luck to him. If he hadn't already been a Bill, he would be the kind of guy that would be a low-risk, high reward for a team needig DL depth. btw- could have sworn I heard Anthony Hargrove was one of the players most likely to be suspended, if indeed players are punished, for his role in the bounty controversy in New Orleans. I assuming you're talking about the Big Tree. He's a real good guy and had a really good 1st season for us. But he had a rough last year with us. Still, I don't see why he couldn't be a decent rotational guy for some team if the price is right. I think Stroud was a good player, but the Bills just got him at the wrong time. Good luck to him. I really liked Hargrove but he is always in trouble for something.
ndirish1978 Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Wish him the best. He was a good guy and played his hardest for us
mrags Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 With penalties going out for injuring other players, do you think they would allow Stroud on the field with his walker?
RalphOP83 Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Yes big tree inn.. I grew up tending bar there until my move down to Florida. My brother has been tending there for about 10 years. I still pick up some shifts while home on break... Good place to pick up some inside info. We get coaches and players in pretty regularly... I have some great stories...

He is DONE! His skills have "LEFT THE BUILDING!" **The light at the end of the tunnel for this team is when Ralph sees the light, and goes towards it**

Trivia: I believe that's their first UFA signing from another team since former bills offensive lineman, duke Preston

benderbender Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 **The light at the end of the tunnel for this team is when Ralph sees the light, and goes towards it** That signature seems familiar somehowp
Reed83HOF Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Trivia: I believe that's their first UFA signing from another team since former bills offensive lineman, duke Preston There is a name I haven't heard in a looooong time...
OCinBuffalo Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Stroud...is a cool guy. I hung out with him and Spencer Johnson for an hour in a bar. I just walked into it, literally. I wish him luck, but I think he's done. And, isn't Hargrove the the crazy guy? Not "Ray Lewis" crazy, but, "why is that guy dancing in that dumpster at 3 am? Hmm, he looks sober too." crazy?
RalphOP83 Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Here's story for ya....last time anthony hargrove came in the big tree (he stopped in regularly) his credit card got declined so I had to comp his 3 jager bombs and 2 beers....$15 I tend to not post anything i hear from players or anyone else b/c I have friendships with them and gained trust...many times they are out of the loop on player transactions etc.
Nanker Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 I'm believing Hargrove is going to get a suspension for a few games. He's one of the Saint's that ran his mouth a lot about cash for crippling.
NoSaint Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 I'm believing Hargrove is going to get a suspension for a few games. He's one of the Saint's that ran his mouth a lot about cash for crippling. I'd think he's pretty far down the list. If he's suspended, about a dozen guys will be. I see vilma, and maybe a couple others that designed the program as the ones hit with suspensions. Hargrove was new to the team, when this was getting put together. I doubt his sideline comments during a game get him suspended, but who knows.

I was just kidding about my earlier post as I think was obvious and I believe that bartender/customer confidence is just as important as any other trust between two people. Kudos to you.
