Buftex Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 (edited) Had the pleasure of seeing Earl Scruggs, years ago, at Lincoln Center...he was mesmerizing. Cool guy too. This country has always been so polorized...Scruggs was kind of black-balled in the late 60's and early 70's for taking an anti-war stance...almost unheard of, at that time, for people in his social circles. Really sad to hear of his passing. If you ever get a chance, there was a great documentary made about him in the mid to late 70's called "Banjoman". I saw it on Bravo years ago...might be on Netfix? birdog1960 Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 (edited) he worked a lot with bella fleck. never got the pleasure to see Mr. Scruggs but knowing he was in the same league as fleck tells you all you need to no about his talent. sounds like he was also a pioneer. i'll bet he lived a full and robust life. edit: just pulled up this great interview between the two. pretty cool stuff.
