In summary...The union didn't like management/superindendent (M/S) making the decision on when they could switch shirts so they put the specifics of what they, the union members, wanted into the contract so the dates were set. Now they want to switch even earlier but are bound by their contract to switch later so they go back to M/S and want him to over-ride the contract. He says sure, I am willing to do that, but only if you put it back to the way it was where M/S has the final say all the time and not just when it's convenient for you/union. The union didn't want to do that so they made the decision to abide by the contract they wanted in the first place but somehow they think they can blame M/S. What a frickin' joke. One place had a rule that we couldn't wear warm weather boots once it started snowing. I was asked why I kept wearing mine, since it w as against command policy.
