John from Riverside Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 He hasn traded down in any round in 2 years here. Idk about Chargers, what was their history when he was there? Spiller they coul have traded 5 slots back and project he would have been there, Troupe they could ha traded an entire round back. Joe you dont know that for sure

San Diego isn't really relevant because he didn't have the authority to make trades.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 The more I think about it the more it seems to make sense. Unless Buffalo is in love with certain player at the 10th spot I can see Buffalo trading down and acquiring more picks in this years draft. Selecting a Cordy Glenn in the middle of round one or a Courtney Upshaw, Zach Brown, Peter Konz, Mike Adams, Devon Still, etc etc. Buddy Nix made this statement "We have 9 picks in this years draft but would like 10". If Buffalo finds a dancing partner at 10 I really believe we trade down and gain some more picks. Buffalo needs depth at many positions. Every year we get "awed" from the top 15 names in the draft but it's usually the 2nd round and back where the players really make the most impact in the NFL. Can't stand the wait until the draft! If we don't trade up for Tannehill then I'm all for it, hopefully Cincinati, which is picks 17 and 21. 1-17. Dre Kirkpatrick Alabama 6'2" 186 CB 1-21. Stephen Hill Georgia Tech 6'5" 200 WR 2-42. Jared Crick Nebraska 6'4" 285 DE
Kelly the Dog Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 It all depends on whether Nix really likes guys that are available at the time of the draft, and it's self-evident by how fast the card goes up to the podium, Nix has said numerous times that he doesnt like to trade up because he values draft picks and he doesn't like to trade down (although he will) because he is confident in the guys he wants. The first draft it was very clear they wanted Spiller. It was also very clear that he wanted to switch to a 3-4 defense and needed different kinds of bodies, and he already knew that he wanted Troup over the only other possibility, Cody. He also liked Carrington, who was one of few DE who were clearly capable of the 3-4 duties at DE because most college teams play 4-3. He made his selections immediately. The same thing last year. Dareus was a no brainer after Miller was taken. They clearly liked Williams and didnt take more than 20 seconds to make that selection. They gushed over Sheppard before the draft and again, it was an instant choice they didnt even bother with LATE trade down possibilities. Even in round four they had long before decided on Searcy if he was available and immediately took him. This year, it is possible that it is different, and he will consider trading down because there may not be a guy they are set on. We have no way of knowing that now. But the fact that Chris Brown mentioned it this week leads me to believe it's at least a possibility. We also have a lot less glaring weaknesses, so there may be fewer possibilities of players that Nix loves but BPAPON may enter into his equation much more.
