Dragonborn10 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Holy ****... This is an incredible punishment. I hope there is no trickle down effect to Buffalo. I thin this is Godell sending a message to the players that I will be as serious with management as I will be with you. Player safety is going to be number one priority. There is no way he will get the 18 games the owners so desperately want without a reduction in player inmjuries. 18 games makes the NFL millions of more dollars. If it means slowing the game down and making it less violent Godell is going to do it. Wow - I am still stunned.
n3wyork13 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I love it..I live in hammond, la and am.from binghamton,ny. I hate the aunts bcus when I first moved here NO ONE talked aboit the saints, then they won and there were saints fans everywhere. Saints suck!
Peter Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Peyton and Williams are both pompous asses. I do not feel sorry for them at all.
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 So, why didn't Belicheat get suspended for spygate? Seems like that was at least equally unethical. it's not who you know its who you

Lurker Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Toche'... So, why didn't Belicheat get suspended for spygate? Seems like that was at least equally unethical. Player injuries open up all kinds of litigation possibilities...
Mattygarbage Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Someplace, somewhere Donahoe is saying "But,But he is organized...."
LeviF Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 They lose a couple of draft picks and a cool 500 large too. And now Joe Vitt has been suspended 6 games. Goodell ain't fooling around anymore.
dayman Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 (edited) Suggested steps for Saints franchise: 1) Trade Brees (and anyone else you can) for unGodly amounts of picks to recoup the ability to build 2) In doing so and also w/ coaching frenzy expect to tank, and tank hard revealing New Orleans wont' go to games unless the team is real good 3) Sneak out of garbage heap that is New Orleans and settle in a new cozy stadium in LA 4) Rebuild to a patient and ecstatic fan base that just got a team back, in a town FA's will want to come to 5) Profit from all this. Help Bills stay in WNY along the way. Edited March 21, 2012 by dayman
Roger Goodell Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Wow!!!!!!! I am really shocked by this. I am not the worlds biggest fan of Roger Goodell, but I give him credit, he doesn't !@#$ around. Don't mess with the bull young man. You'll get the horns.
NoSaint Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 How does the suspension work? Is the coach completely cut off from any team activities at all, or just game days? I'd assume right around sept 1st he will be cut off until after the last game.
prissythecat Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 So, why didn't Belicheat get suspended for spygate? Seems like that was at least equally unethical. There is quite a difference between videotaping practice and incenting players to injure other people...
NoSaint Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Who is going to coach them? Good lord Carmichael did when Peyton was hurt last year and did very well. They also just hired spags for DC I'd guess between those two, the team should function still
IDBillzFan Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 So, why didn't Belicheat get suspended for spygate? Seems like that was at least equally unethical. Because everyone cheated like Belicheat! /pats*fanseverywhere
papazoid Posted March 21, 2012 Author Posted March 21, 2012 greg is probably looking at 2 years before he can seek reinstatement.
Fan in Chicago Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Carmichael did when Peyton was hurt last year and did very well. They also just hired spags for DC I'd guess between those two, the team should function still Depending on what happens with Brees' contract. I have a tough time believing that they won't come to terms in a timely manner, but if it does drag on, it may spell trouble.

I've heard through the grapevine "from sources deep within" that it's not far off. I think the front office understands.
