boyst Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 jury is adjourning for evening. Strange. You'd think they would want to get it done. Must mean they feel a lot more to decide. Probably not a great sign.
meazza Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Be prepared for the riot here on PPP regardless of the verdict. We'll be inundated by more trolls than Tolkien had in The Hobbit. The fact that it's Obama's son will have great sway with the jury.
Sig1Hunter Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 does the sheriffs department have any authority or jurisdiction over a local police office? Nope. Just a different jurisdiction. City officers have jurisdiction within their municipality, while the sheriffs office has jurisdiction in the whole county. Mutual aid agreements can give jurisdiction in other places, but you get the gist.
PearlHowardman Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Q1. Why are there only six jurors instead of 12? Q2. Why are there only women on the jurry? Q3. What do the jury instructions look like? Q4. What is the possibility of a hung jury? If I were GZ I would have wanted 12 jurors with men! I would have put my hopes on a hung jury and then the State deciding not to retry.
Sig1Hunter Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Only capital cases (first degree murder) get 12 member juries.
dayman Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Q1. Why are there only six jurors instead of 12? Florida Q2. Why are there only women on the jurry? they only picked women Q3. What do the jury instructions look like? stack of papers Q4. What is the possibility of a hung jury? IMO, real possibility If I were GZ I would have wanted 12 jurors with men! I would have put my hopes on a hung jury and then the State deciding not to retry.

No, in this case you wouldn't want a 12 person jury for they are reserved for Murder 1 cases. There is absolutely no chance of a hung jury with all woman on it.
dayman Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 LOL! Oh my God, O'Mara laying into Bernie on CNN right now

NoSaint Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 jury is adjourning for evening. Strange. You'd think they would want to get it done. Must mean they feel a lot more to decide. Probably not a great sign. Could mean a quick decision they want to sleep on. Could mean they have people dug in so they'd rather hash it out tomorrow. Trying to guess what a jury is doing is tough.
boyst Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Could mean a quick decision they want to sleep on. Could mean they have people dug in so they'd rather hash it out tomorrow. Trying to guess what a jury is doing is tough. A lot of quotes on both side of the argument have speculated that it is a combination of stepping back and good unity in the room. Then the long days all this week, they're tired and have a lot on their mind already with the case and missing home - they want to come in tomorrow and finish it.
B-Man Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 (edited) Q3. What do the jury instructions look like? Here you go.............Zimmerman Final Jury Instructions Here's my instructions 1. ....lybob Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 If I was the prosecution I might have charged it wasn't the shot that killed TM it was GZ holding down TM after the shot that made it impossible for paramedics to rescue TM.
PearlHowardman Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 If you read the actual jury instructions the jury needs to make an analytical decision. Not an emotional one. If they follow the jury instructions it looks good for GZ.
NoSaint Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 (edited) If I was the prosecution I might have charged it wasn't the shot that killed TM it was GZ holding down TM after the shot that made it impossible for paramedics to rescue TM. Based on your expert medical opinion? Or? Point of curiousity... How long was the gap between the shot and the witness coming out/police and such? Exciting - HLN has the kkk/grand wizard lady back on again and frank taffe saying he wants to celebrate his victory with skittles and iced tea.... Edited July 13, 2013 by NoSaint
