For those of you implying Bills fans shouldn't be "celebrating" this signing, please consider: this was CLEARLY not the direction Miami wanted to go. There's also a reason why the Jags jettisoned Garrard on the eve of the regular season last year.

Look, he's been a nice player; athletic, makes plays with his legs, etc. But he's also a fumble machine and has thrown 38 picks over his last three seasons. And he's 34.

Nobody at OBD is shaking in his boots over this.

That number of picks sounds high, until we note that in the last 3 seasons he played, he also threw 53 TD.

His pick percentage was quite low in 2008-2009 while throwing for >3500 yds per season. We'd like to see Fitzy be that low, and not withstanding the 15 picks in 2010, Garrard still had a QB rating over 90.

The reasons the Jags jettisoned Garrard were that they thought they'd drafted their next Franchise QB in Gabbert, and that Garrard needed back surgery and was hampered in his mobility.

I agree this isn't the direction Miami wanted to go, but it makes a heck of a lot more sense for them than Tebow or Alex Smith.

If he's healthy, he's a solid interim QB for a rebuilding team whereas Smith is a guy who needs a system and pieces around him, and Tebow is a guy who needs to become an NFL quality QB.

Nobody at OBD should be shaking in his boots over Brady, Manning, or any other QB. They should be busting their butts figuring out how to use our DL to squash them like buuuuuuuuuugggggggs.
