QCity Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 I don't know which free agen offensive linemen are still available. Teams have been grabbing up the all pro offensive lineman quickly. I know Tennessee, Tampa Bay, and New Orleans have already scarfed up the all pro offensive linemen. Bell is actually the best LT available. Those 3 teams you mentioned all signed guards.
The-scout Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 If Nix was smart he would release Kelsey. The guy is NOT worth what he is making. Take that money, add a little that you saved from Roscoe Parrish, and sign a good free agent OFFENSIVE TACKLE to replace Bell who is just about gone. Draft Quinton Coples DE to replace Kelsey. Def line would be: Mario Williams (1st round) -- Kyle Williams (5th round) -- Marcel Dareus (1st round) -- Quinton Coples (1st round) Not too shabby, you would have three former 1st round draft picks on the line. You won't need to draft an offensive tackle with the first pick if you take the Kelsey money and sign a good left tackle. 2nd round grab a wide receiver, hopefully Stephen Hill*, WR, Georgia Tech. Height: 6-4. Weight: 215. 40 Time: 4.36. 10-Yd Split: 1.20. Vertical: 39.5 Then use the rest of your picks (3,4,4,5,6,7) on linebackers, DBs, and maybe a tight end. At that rate they should cut Kelsey and re sign Mabin. 2nd round is intriguing.
TheKidd Posted March 19, 2012 Author Posted March 19, 2012 (edited) So you joined TBD yesterday to rip on the Bills FO right after they signed the biggest FA on the market? WOW! Are you saying the Bills signed Peyton Manning???? When did this happen, this is the first I heard about it. Are you sure they signed Peyton? Well you must be, you said they signed the biggest free agent on the market. At that rate they should cut Kelsey and re sign Mabin. 2nd round is intriguing. Maybin was just on a lousy team before. He got over 5 sacks with the Jets. Good coaching and being on a good team can do wonders for a player's career!! Wouldn't you agree. Maybin is a perfect example of getting drafted by a weak team. ....lybob Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Nine DL start of the season? M Williams LDE Dareus DT K Williams DT Merriman RDE- top line if everyone come back healthy now you need 5 out of these guys or draft picks Carrington, Alex DT/ possible LDE LIONEL DOTSON LDE ROBERT EDDINS RDE Jarron Gilbert DT/ possible LDE Johnson, Spencer LDE/ possible DT Edwards, Dwan DT Kellen Heard DT Kelsay, Chris RDE/LDE Batten, Danny RDE Kyle Moore RDE/LDE Jay Ross DT Troup, Torell DT My guess the five most likely to make it are Carrington, Gilbert, Kelsay, Moore, and Johnson- given their greater versatility and because I think DW is a fan of speed over size. Of course someone like Coples could take the place of Kelsay or Moore.

The other problem with your proposal is that there are no good free agent offensive tackles to sign. Bell is among the best on the market.
BillsCelticsAngelsBama Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nice mock draft, don't quit your day job. LOL I WOULD BET YOU DON'T EVEN GET ONE OF YOUR PICKS RIGHT! NOT EVEN ONE! NOW THAT'S FUNNY, I DON'T CARE, YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP. ROTFL i hope you're a teenager and not an adult... 'cuz you're kind of annoying
papazoid Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 do NOT draft Coples.....DeCastro, Martin, Ingram and Floyd are all better. cut kelsay AFTER you sign someone better.
mountainwampus Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 (edited) You people are all nuts! Kelsay is god awful. He had his "hand in the dirt" nearly 90% of all plays last two years. He couldn't do a damn thing except sack Tebow. Raise your standards people! This guy wouldn't see the field on any other team. Edited March 19, 2012 by mountainwampus
White Linen Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 No anytime you draft linemen it's a good thing. That's what the Bills need first, lineman, both sides of the ball. The Bills have to build the lines before they should worry about skill positions. I meant finish building the defensive line with the first pick. Make it a monster line, that helps the linebackers and DBs. Then get your reciever, linebacker, OT, coner. I don't know which free agen offensive linemen are still available. Teams have been grabbing up the all pro offensive lineman quickly. I know Tennessee, Tampa Bay, and New Orleans have already scarfed up the all pro offensive linemen. So you want us to cut two defensive lineman, to sign a mystery offensive lineman? What lineman in the draft would make our line a monster?

Santana Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 So you joined TBD yesterday to rip on the Bills FO right after they signed the biggest FA on the market? Thank you, you said it all!

The other problem with your proposal is that there are no good free agent offensive tackles to sign. Bell is among the best on the market. Kelsay is not a "run-stuffer." Just check his stats. He's an "over-pusuing edge rusher that can't get sacks." He had one oppurtunity to stuff Bush behind the line last year. Bush ran through him like he wasn't even there.
Mike in Syracuse Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 The vast majority of people who are shitting on Kelsay don't know wtf they're looking at or wtf they're talking about. The reality is that something is going to have to happen with Kelsay. He's one of our highest paid defensive players and he plays the same position as our new $50M dollar man. He's not built to play LB but he's a solid DE, can he even play the other side? The other thing working for him is that the coaches love him and he's also a complete team guy. I have no what Wanny's plan is but they can't play him at LB in a 4-3 so I have no idea what becomes of CK.

I think his biggest plays of the year were two holding calls he drew. He get's held like a pro. That's about it.
1billsfan Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 do NOT draft Coples.....DeCastro, Martin, Ingram and Floyd are all better. cut kelsay AFTER you sign someone better. Out of the five you mentioned, DeCastro and Ingram are the only lock solid picks. Coples, Martin and Floyd are potential bust type players for various reasons. IMO I think the Bills draft Ingram and if he's not there then they will try hard to trade down. If they can't trade down then they'll be looking at guys like Kirkpatrick, Hightower, Upshaw, Kuechly, or Reiff at #10. Five solid, less "bust" potential prospects. If they do trade down then I think they'll be looking at Upshaw, Hightower, Perry, Mercilus, Glenn, Martin. I think Kuechly is going to the Eagles or Jets if we don't take him.
jimmy10 Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 +1 One-year-wonder for friggin UNC and it wasn't even his senior year... Plus he's soft from what I saw in the senior bowl. Oh and he has disgusting brands on his arms which I would rather not look at ever again. I've gotta agree. I work at UNC, and know people associated with athletics who are always high on their own players. But even they have concerns about Coples' drive and determination. He's got the physical skills, no doubt, but maybe not the will to succeed in the NFL. Could he turn it around? Yes. Is he worth risking the #10 overall pick? No.
ARMchairgm Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 I would cut spencer, dwan and kelsay today. Sign okoye, tommie harris and wallace gilberry
Santana Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 =============================================================================================================== The Buffalo Bills getting a decent draft pick for anyone????? Wait I can't stop laughing. Now that was funny, did you ever consider doing stand up comedy? We take 1st round draft choices and try to get 4th round picks for them. Usually they can't even get that and just realease the guys. The Buffalo Bills are a farm club for the rest of the NFL. Lee Evan, Marshall Lynch, Willis McGahee, LB Maybin! ALL NUMBER 1s, What did we get for them??????????????????????? Get rid of Dwan and Kelsey. Take the money you save from them two clowns and the money from Roscoe Parish and sign the best OFFENSIVE TACKLE available. That way you don't have to waste your number one draft pick on an offensive tackle. Alright man listen, you can laugh all you want thats fine. I love internet thugs! You're grammar is whats really comical (Kelsay not Kelsey). You sign up before you get 10 posts/replies in on being on TBD you start bashing the Bills. Classy bruh!! I'll give you Marshawn Lynch being a mistake but Lee Evans had an awesome year right? Aaron Maybin brought the Jets to the playoffs too huh? and Willis McGahee is better than the any of the running backs that we have now? A decent draft pick doesn't have to be a first rounder, it can be a 4th or even a 5th. Next time you want to post about why it would be such a good idea to make roster moves in 3 sentences why don't you state some facts about it? Here i'll do it for you, Kelsay is due to make $5.8M this year if we release him we take a $2.2M hit in dead cap space that counts towards next year, which in theory wouldn't be all that bad of a move. If he'll restructure (maybe for his base of like $3m) his contract you might be able to keep a veteran who's a decent player incase of an injury. This isn't Madden12 there's a lot more that goes into cutting someone who's going into their 2nd year of a $28+ million dollar contract. Next year if we release him we'd save over $4M instead of $2.2M http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/chris-kelsay/

There are no 'better than average' LT's out there. Second, all this Kelsay hate clearly comes from those who did not watch him when he played with his hand down. He did his job, which wasn't necessarily to make the big play but if you watched him play from the DE position you will see him pressuring the quarterback, pushing the run back inside and pursuing with energy when the plays were on the other side. He is not going to be a superstar but he is a quality player and to just cut him is foolishness. Third, Dwan really doesn't fit in this new D based on his history but the coaches know best and we finally have a D coach who knows his stuff so I will trust Dave W. to make the right decisions!
Doc Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 What I want to know is, do they move Kelsay to RDE since Mario is the LDE? I can't see keeping him at LDE because Mario is an every-down player and that's a ton of money tied-up in that position/for a backup player. So then the question becomes, is Kelsay a good enough RDE to warrant keeping him? He was a RDE in college for most of his time, IIRC.
