Per ESPN.com

The Seattle Seahawks and San Diego Chargers have completed a trade that sends third-string Chargers quarterback Charlie Whitehurst to Seattle for draft picks.

The Seahawks swapped the 40th pick in the second round with San Diego's 60th pick and also will send the Chargers a third-round pick in the 2011 draft.

A third and moving down 20 spots is not that big of a mistake IMO. Also Flynn looked a lot better than Whitehurst and they didn't give him crazy money.

San Diego got the worst of that deal!

I hope he falls because that would put the Bills in a perfect position to trade back. The Bengals still don't have a RB and have 2 first round picks. We can dream right?

If Ingram falls, which he shouldn't, and the Bills pass on him at 17... :wallbash:

That's what it looks like. Had Flynn gotten a ridiculous contract, I'd be more inclined to believe that they lost out on him (which they still may have). But a shade under $9M/year with $10M guaranteed is not a lot.

That is a ridiculous Rob Johnsonesque contract for a guy who has played one game.

Quick question: why is no one high on Matt Moore. They seemed to play pretty well with him at QB down the stretch. Why wouldn't they just stick with him?

I don't watch a ton of Miami football either so I might just be completely off base on this.

Just thought this was funny. Florio and PFT are redeeming themselves from their shoddy Mario coverage...

"The Dolphins under owner Stephen Ross not long ago seemed like a large man with a big bat who simply couldn’t connect on a high and tight fastball. Now, perhaps Ross and the Dolphins are a little kid swinging a cracked broom at a piñata that is hanging too high for him to reach."

Flynn must nbot be that good if his own OC wouldn't sign him

I haven't read all the articles, but why is everyone making this assumption? Isn't it possible Flynn choose to reject the Dolphins for Seattle?

I stuck this in another thread, but I just find to too funny...From Florio and PFT

Damn, no one wants to coach or play for the Dolphins!

ESPN's AFC East blogger, James Walker, tweeted this earlier after Flynn signed in Seattle:

I know it's just a coincidence. But ever since Mario Williams signed with Buffalo, Miami’s QB search has gone haywire. #JustSaying

Too bad. I for one would prefer if the AFC East was the toughest division in the NFL. You get better by facing the best competition. Not to mention that the games would be more entertaining.

I dunno - I find Bills wins VERY entertaining.

Bills should wait for Martin to fall to the 2nd round

that's as likely as him being there at #17

He signed with Seattle. Looks like its Alex Smith, Garrard, a rookie, or Matt Moore for Miami. I can live with that...

Hey these guys are available:

Beyond Smith and Garrard, the list of remaining free agent quarterbacks is unimpressive: Charlie Batch, Kyle Boller, Kellen Clemens, Jake Delhomme, Dennis Dixon, A.J. Feeley, Caleb Hanie, Josh Johnson, Byron Leftwich, Matt Leinart, J.P. Losman and Luke McCown.
