Kelly the Dog Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 I would bet that Chan is very comfortable with Thigpen as his back-up QB despite his sorry performance last year. Unless they fall in love with a QB i doubt they draft one in the first 5 rounds. Brad Smith is going to be the #3 and they will likely keep a project QB on the PS.
PearlHowardman Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Then Sal Maiorana at the Rochester D-and-C pretty much nailed it: Mario Williams brings two more victories to the Buffalo Bills. That means 8-8. Great!

This is pretty much what I expect as well. If Fitz plays well this year, it will be a few years before we look seriously at replacing/challenging him. I could honestly see us doing a Aaron Rodgers move in 4-5 seasons out, provided Fitz plays well. The only thing that changes that is someone amazing falling to us. If Fitz plays like crap, Nix will make a move. If Thigpen plays horrendous again, I could see Nix forcing Gailey's hand and make a change...I do think we will draft a guy this year, but it will be a late rounder.
It's in My Blood Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Great, another Fitz sucks thread has been created.

The thing is, if Nix and the Bills scouts absolutely love Tannehill and think he has a good chance to be a franchise QB down the line, they will take him. I doubt they do, but it's possible. There just don't seem to be a lot of good QBs in this draft outside of the 1-2 studs.
NewEra Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 1332011942[/url]' post='2412761']That's what the fifth and sixth rounds are for. They'll draft someone. And I'm sure a qb drafted in the 5th or 6th rd would give us a chance to win games of forced to start/play....

PearlHowardman Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Great, another Fitz sucks thread has been created. This is not another 'Fitz sucks' thread. It's a 'in order for the Bills to get to the playoffs we need a better offense and let's start with the QB' thread.
NeverOutNick Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 (edited) I'm totally fine with us drafting Tannehill as a current back up (contingency for if Fitz gets hurt) and eventual franchise QB. He looks to have all the qualities you want except a lot of game experience which is why he would work for a team that already has a QB in place (so he can be groomed)...He looks much better than all of the QBs that came out last year (besides Cam) Side note: I think if this is part of the plan we let Fitz know ahead of time that were not trying to replace him but have an eventual successor or legitimate back up in case things go wrong Edited March 18, 2012 by NeverOutNick
stevestojan Posted March 18, 2012 Author Posted March 18, 2012 Great, another Fitz sucks thread has been created. Yep. You're right. That's exactly what I said.
Reed83HOF Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 And I'm sure a qb drafted in the 5th or 6th rd would give us a chance to win games of forced to start/play.... Tell that to Marcia
Kelly the Dog Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Tell that to Marcia So you're happy with a 5,000 to 1 shot?
CardinalScotts Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 His injury isnt what affected the teams play as much as the injuries to the wideouts, tightends, lineman and Fred. Along with the smelly D
Reed83HOF Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 (edited) So you're happy with a 5,000 to 1 shot? Someone had to make that comment. Everyone thought it though!! God I can't stand him Edited March 18, 2012 by reed83 4th Rounder
NeverOutNick Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Here's a good article on what Tannehill offers and why if we did take him we would need to let Fitz know this is still his team but Tannehill could be the future (in a couple years) My link
Malazan Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Sorry (really). I was trapped in Mario Land for a while. Ill delete the thread, but it seemed QB talk was very scattered about. It was scattered about so another thread 'helps' that?
Reed83HOF Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Yep. You're right. That's exactly what I said. Prolly should have titled it 'We need a backup QB', instead of 'We need a QB'. On a side note, as much as we all love Fitz, he doesn't have a pedigree or a large successful past body of work, so far so good. For a few seasons it has to/should be a lets give him a shot, give him tools and see where he takes us. Yeah we have faith, but it shouldn't be blind either. Hopefully at the end of the season it really was just his ribs and the injuries. Surround the guy with talent and let's see where we go.
BEAST MODE BABY! Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Take it for what it's worth.... Some report on Twitter speculated that the Bills will jump ahead of the Dolphins if Cleveland doesn't take Tannehill.
